My husband laughed out loud at me (OUT LOUD!) when he saw this:
I didn’t even care because a Sharpie? And a grocery store circular for the sales at Publix the week before Christmas?
You can add up those two things any way you want to, but the result will always be PURE, UNBRIDLED JOY, my friends.
I mean, I don’t even really like grated cheese in the bag, but Kraft cheese that’s two for $5? TWO FOR FIVE DOLLARS?
How can one possibly resist such a price?
Also, my mama has always told me that “there’s no substitute for Land O’ Lakes butter,” and at two for $5, THERE DOESN’T HAVE TO BE! I’LL TAKE TEN!
I need to get out more, don’t I?

Sofia says:
Wow, I can understand your heated emotions there! :) Especially the Philadelphia cream cheese, that’s really an incredibly cheap price.

Love it, such a hoot! I personally love to grocery shop, and I love to find a good deal too, so this entry really struck a chord with me :)
Love the Sharpie action, good for you!
Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!

Overwhelmed! says:
Those are great deals! And if you have coupons for any of those, it’d be even better!
Have you ever checked out http://www.grocerygame.com? It does the work for you…comparing store ads with coupons found in your Sunday paper and then giving you a list each week of how much you’d save. It’s awesome!
The other day, I got 5 boxes of Duncan Hines brownie mixes for 30 cents each!!!

Listen to your Mama, girl, she’s makin’ good sense! There’s no substitute for real cow butter and good vanilla. And that’s gospel. :-)

Revka says:
Great deals are the best! And I only use butter, though I can’t say I only use Land O’ Lakes. Diane J. is absolutely correct: real butter and real vanilla are a must! I love the pure vanilla from Mexico. (I grew up on the border, and we would routinely buy certain items from Mexico.)

I totally get this!!! On Thursday morning, I go online to Publix.com and go to the “services” pull down. And viola, there is the circular online. That way, I have it nice and early. And I don’t have to get in my car to go get one.
Now the sharpie. I’m not sure how I would get that off my computer screen! :)

I visited Kelli & Carol and prayed too.
Don’t you just love those sales flyers?
I usually check them for good prices on the things I need.
Actually they work good for paper training your puppy.

That’s awesome. Here’s something else to make you and your husband laugh. When my Father in Law gets great deals like that at the grocery store, he writes the price he paid for it in BIG numbers on the box or whatever kind of container it comes in. Every. Single. Time.

Girl- you need to get yourself over to the nearest Wal-Marts. Philadelphia Cream Cheese for 94 cents. Can’t beat that price, for sure. :)

Girl, there is nothing like real butter! Who even wants that old nasty margarine stuff? It is all about moderation–use butter, but in moderation. I think one day it will come out just how bad margarine is for you :).

For anyone who’s lived in Minnesota, you are right that Land O Lakes is the best - though I rarely buy it - too expensive! But guess what? Our store had Philadelphia Cream Cheese for $.49 last week-end! And I didn’t buy any!!

But I totally bought two Mrs. Smith’s cherry pies. THREE DOLLARS EACH!
And I still haven’t made it to Walmart…a nap and a walk just seemed infinitely more appealing…but I’m going to be sick if we don’t have cream cheese for 94 cents. Because I NEED to make cheese logs now with some 94 cent Philadelphia cream cheese.

Just last weekend I was browsing some online supermarket ads just to remember what it was like (it’s just not the same here in New Zealand) and I was talking to my husband about all the great deals. Your husband might laugh but my husband, ummm… well, he thinks that talking about bargains is a great aphrodisiac. No joke! The man loves to save some money.
