Hello, Lurking Pot? This Is The Lurking Kettle.

Since I’m a bit of a pro at lurking and not commenting (seriously. I read a lot of blogs, but I find I can only comment regularly on about ten of them at any given point in time or I start to feel all jittery and overwhelmed and whatnot), I figure the least I can do is spread a little link love to some of the places where I lurk. And then y’all can lurk there, too, and OH what a happy day it will be.

Now this is by no means an exhaustive list of the blogs I read that aren’t listed in my blogroll in the sidebar, but it is a nice little sampler. Sort of like Whitman’s, you know, only without the chocolate.

So, without further delay, I give you some of my favorite places to lurk and not comment and pretend like I’m invisible (which is pretty nice sometimes, truth be told):

Also, I’ve read a couple of great posts recently that I just have to share: Jeana’s post on choosing romance (for grown-ups only), and Addie’s post on liberation. All kinds of wisdom in both.

Enjoy, everybody! And feel free to leave all of these sweet ladies a comment and let them know that you stopped by.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

  1. Thanks for the recommendations, BooMama. A couple are already on my feeder, but I’m checking out the others tout de suit!

And Happy Valentine’s day to you as well. Thanks for my daily dose of laughter, well except when you decide to be serious. But even then, you usually get a chuckle from me… or two.

  2. Happy Valentine’s Day!

  3. Awwh shucks. Thank you boomama, you made my valentine’s day!!! :)

I read your blawg daily too—I don’t always comment because usually the previous 65 comments cover what I wanted to say! :) But it is always a treasure and a good laugh at your place.

  4. I just love your blog. I am so glad my friend found Shannon’s blog, shared it with me, and then I found you! I was LOL when I was up at 3:45 this morning over the hair post. You are awesome, thanks for putting a smile in my day!

  5. And feel free to leave all of these sweet ladies a comment and let them know that you stopped by.

So I guess we shouldn’t lurk, huh? ;)

  6. I am thrilled to be the first to congratulate you on winning the Blog You’ll Never Stop Reading award at the Share The Love awards. Contratulations, Boo Mama. So, so well deserved!

  7. Barb–thanks for the heads up on the awards.

Boomama–Congrats! I have to say that you do a great job of “sharing the love” each week. Thanks for the link (and letting me know you’re out there).

I just can’t read and not comment. I like to encourage, but I also am just a big mouth, I think. So, I have to limit my blogs, checking some only weekly, because if I check, I have to comment, and that does take forever.

  8. Thanks, BooMama! I lurk at lots of blogs too. If I commented on every single one I visited, I would get even less housework done than I already do, my eight-year-old would probably have to learn how to cook dinner.

Congrats on the award — it’s well-deserved, and I, for one, plan on reading your blog as long as you keep writing.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

  9. Elizabeth says:

I now feel validated as a lurker. :)

  10. Thanks for the tips and CONGRATS on your much deserved awards……

  11. Oh Boomama, you are always kind and generous to direct your readers to other blogger’s blog. You’re a great asset to the bloggersworld!

  12. Well, this is turning into a congrats comment spot, so throw me in there with everyone else. Well deserved. Callapidder Days and I attend church together, didn’t know that til she read about Addison in the bulletin, so she, Unfinished Work (Dianne) and I all did a MIRL at Paneras and I’ve read her since. Several others on your list are on my reads too, but a couple were new. And it’s always nice to find good new writing. xoxo

  13. I luuuuuuvvvvvv to lurk. And by the way, please keep us updated on your hair. I didn’t know what advice to give-I was on the fence. The hairdresser has to pry the check out of my hand when I get my hair done because I can’t believe how much I’m spending. Beauty ain’t free, girls…it just ain’t free.

  14. Thanks girl for sharing the link love! I guess that explains the extrodinary amount of ‘boomama’ in my site meter today!

And you know I will NEVER EVER stop reading you, which is why I voted for you in that category, and pretty much every other possible one. I tried to stuff the ballot box with your name, but Heather’s system outsmarted me. :D

    CONGRATULATIONS!

  15. I, too, am a lurker on a whole lotta blogs where I don’t post a comment. Mainly it is because I am speed reading each post as I count down the seconds until my kiddos wake from their naps. I do love your blog, your sense of humor, and your knack for writing such interesting posts. How’s this for a first comment to ya? :)

  16. Phyllis R. says:

Happy Valentine’s Day! Hope you are having a lovely (and blond-er) day.

Oh and thank you so very much for the newest blog links. If you like ’em, I’ll like. Thing is, I’m already needing to find a Bloggers Anonymous in my area. The last time you linked it was to “Lots of Scotts.” And now? Completely hooked. I find myself wondering (with a crazy nervous laugh), “When Jen will post next?” Sheesh.

Please. Let’s close the bloggy borders. It’s too late for me – I’m already a lifer – but to those who have a life: move away from the keyboard. : )

  17. I’ll check them out Boo! Thanks for the great ideas. Hope you are having a great Valentine’s Day!!

  18. And then there’s Clem. I have to say something to everyone because I have, like, a PATRILLION words to use each day, and I’ve found that words like, “Because I said so” and “Don’t put that in your nose” and “Calgon, take me away” don’t count. No matter how many times I say them. Go figure.

Congrats on the much-deserved recognition. Now I’m off to follow all of the thoughtfully-provided links…

  19. I love your blog & have been a lurker for far too long! Thanks for the daily dose of laughter and encouragement! Wishing you success with the hair (not much worse than a bad “do”) and a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

  20. Rocks in my Dryer says:

LOVE that title…do I detect a reference to one of my favorite lines from Friends?

  21. You know, I lurk here all the time. But only when I’m not commenting.

  22. Hi, I found your blog through the Share the Love blog awards, and it is awesome. Incredible design, and really entertaining. Congratulations, and God bless you.

  23. Thank you so much for linking to me! all the love is overwhelming

  24. Hullo Boo, thought I’d introduce myself since I lurk here a few times a week. :) And I think we are in the same city but I can’t remember now why I thought that. Anywho, you always make me laugh because I can TOTALLY relate to another die hard alma mater sports fan. And the LOUD ENTHUSIASM of your little cutie… I’m there every day. :) Robin

  25. I think I am completely incapable of lurking. I don’t think it’s in my vocabulary. :)

    HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

  26. I can’t remember how I found this blog, it makes me laugh almost every single day! And since you recently posted on wanting to know who’s reading (and I’m a HUGE lurker) – here I am. My name is Katie and I l-o-v-e your blog.

  27. I must admit.

    I am a lurker.

I just discovered your blog a few weeks ago. I LOVE it. I am a commenting virgin. You are my first. Whew…glad I got that out of the way. Who knows what this new world of commenting could open up! I feel so liberated!

  28. I was so nervous, I wrote my wrong link down. There we go.

  29. I tend to be the same way. I’m trying to be better, and comment more tho.

  30. the title has had me giggling all day. very clever.

  31. Well good gracious you are going to make me come out of Luker Mode and say

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I am humbled. And girl, lurk all you want (I “lurk” here also, only commenting ever so often ;)
