I snapped these pictures this afternoon right before today’s storms hit our area. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more eerie sky.
As it turned out, the worst of the weather missed our neck of the woods, but thanks so much to those of you who have emailed to check on us.
And please keep the families in Enterprise, Alabama in your prayers.

I’m impressed - think I would have been in my basement and not outside snapping pics!!! We are in the middle of a blizzard - ugh - wierd weather!!!

I’m so glad that you and yours are all fine. I thought of you right away when I heard about the horrible storms in Alabama. To hear about a school getting hit by a tornado scares me to no end. I teach school and we have had a couple of close calls over the years. That would be one of the most awful things I could ever imagine to have to experience. Those pictures you took are unbelievable! I’m thankful for your safety. Take care.

Nothing like spending the afternoon in the toy closet with my girls. While driving home, I had to define a “funnel cloud” to my 4 yr old. fun!

When Tonya told me she and the kids were hunkering in the basement and her husband was fishing near Enterprise, well, it seemed too close, even out here in Colorado. My word, I’ve been seeing this on Fox News all night long. What a disaster. You can bet the people of Enterprise are in my thoughts and prayers. You photos sent a chill up my spine.

Wasn’t that the weirdest looking sky??? We were at my MIL’s in Brook Highland and we were talking about how purple the sky looked. Today was definitely a rough day here in AL. Glad you all made it through!

Praying for all those in Enterprise and all those around the country that lost a loved one in Enterprise. Truly scary. You believe your children are safe at school and then something like this happens and you realize that is not so. A tornado hit an elementary school here back in 1989 and killed many children and severely handicapped many also. It was so very sad.
You are a brave lady to go out and get those pictures. I tend to take cover when we are in a warning and I am in NY. A place you don’t expect tornadoes.

SO incredibly beautiful! I love storms! I have been known to stand outside in thunderstorms and clap and praise God. Yes, I understand that is strange, but I find myself totally fascinated by the power of God. Glad that you are all ok. Praying for Enterprise.

We had it the day before you did. It was freaky. I thought we would be the new Dorothy for a while. And instead of Toto, we would be taking our cat Tenni.
Praise God that y’all are safe and sound, but I will be praying for those families in Enterprise.

How majestic that sky looks. Terrific pictures!! If we ever have any doubt who controls this world we only need to look up. I am ever amazed by the power of nature. We too had a sad day here yesterday a mom and her 6 & 7 year olds slid on the road and were killed by a transport truck. I will be remembering them all in prayer and hugging my kids close.

I live about 30 miles from Enterprise and it was terrible. Luckily, we did not get hit, but last night, we were all sitting in the hallway during a tornado warning here. It is amazing more were not lost. God was good. The cleanup will be tremendous. How hard for teenagers to have to deal with the deaths of 8 of their classmates. They need our prayers.

I have lived in Florida my whole life and I saw those clouds yesterday over my little girls’ school and I prayed against a tornado for the first time in my life. I am so glad you are alright- there is something very “different” about that kind of black sky that scares you. I love your humor, your heart and I am so glad my friend Belinda turned me on to your blog.

Just now checking up since I was in Dallas becoming homeless. While I was at a friends I actually got to watch the news and saw all of the stormy mess. (I was informed that it had happened the day before and what rock had I been under. I replied the red yellow and blue Wiggles one, or the pink Uniqua Backyardigans one.) Anyway, I’m glad you are ok! I guess I could have just said that to begin with, huh?
