I feel you Boomama! We have the Yeehaw Mee-Maw tour every couple of months. It always seems to fall on the weekend BEFORE my cleaning people come, requiring me to actually DO IT MYSELF (the horror). I come from a long line of clean women whom I try to live up to, and I’ve never seen their wizards but they MUST have them. My grandmother handwashes all her clothes in Woolite. My aunt vacuums twice a day (she’s stopped following you out the door with the hand-vac). My mom has cleaning rules, like which side of the sink is for washing dishes and which side is for washing food. My husband gets on to me for staying up until midnight to clean but my mama and her mama used to do the same thing so I come by it honestly. You can’t sleep good until the house is clean, right?

Oh MY WORD — I think we have the same mother. SERIOUSLY… I really do!

AND … my mom is coming this weekend, AND … I’ve been doing the cleaning frenzy dance, too … AND … we’ve just started steam cleaning the carpets to perfection … AND … sheesh! I’m exhausted — wonder why?

Wait … does your mom iron anything that doesn’t move? With starch?

This is great- I am the exact same way when my mom comes. Now, my mother-in-law, she’s about as much of a neat freak as me (read: not at all), so it doesn’t worry me when she comes. But my mom’s house is always perfectly clean, and it’s kind of intimidating! The decorating in the laundry room, though, is hilarious. Thanks for sharing!

I am the same way and my Mom is the same as your Mom. She just got all her teeth out and new teeth in but she was rearranging furniture the other day.
