…I am so proud of Shannon I can hardly contain myself.
Granted, I happen to agree with her on the issue at hand. But I’m not proud of her because we see eye-to-eye.
I’m proud of her because I don’t know many people who could address such a controversial topic with the amount of grace and thoughtfulness that she conveys in her post. She articulates her viewpoint beautifully, and she does so in a way that’s not insulting or condescending to those who might have a different opinion.
In fact, Shannon has set the bar so high that her commenters have followed suit. As a result, there’s a real-live discussion going on, not a shouting match.

Rock on, Mrs. Rocks. Mighty well done indeed.

I went there before I came here and I have to tell you I have tears in my eyes for the marvelous job she has done. I have so many words I want to say that they would come out as a flood, so I will wait until I can write calmly and thoughtfully. Maybe in 2009 or so…

I totally agree! She closed her comments at Rocks In My Dryer and there was such a good dialogue going on at Blogher that I didn’t want to interrupt it with a “God Job, Shannon!”
God is working through her post. I just know it!

I read it this morning. She did a great job. I love how she delicately chose her words and related both her former and current views. I agree with her completely, and it seemed as though she wrote the article just for me.

Alecia’s testimony is amazing, and it goes along with Shannon’s article.
Thanks!

Sophie, not only do you promote issues, interests, and ideas so very well but you promote people with such kindness and class. I just think the world of you for what you are all about. Have a great day. Bev

That was a remarkable essay by your friend, Shannon, and remarkable, thought provoking discussion. I’ve always been pro-life, but it certainly helped me to see the other side and to have more grace and mercy for others who have had to make some impossible decisions…very very thought provoking. Thanks for pointing me in that direction Miss Boo Mama :)

Impressive. I thought she did great and commenters (at least the ones I read) did a great job of not getting on the wrong track.
