It Was Like Talking To The Sweet Old Lady On The Bus

by BooMama on 17 April 2008

in TV Is My Friend

So Michael’s personal life has definitely taken a turn for the MORE PAINFULLY AWKWARD THAN USUAL in the last two episodes of “The Office,” but there was a welcome hint of sweetness in the last half of tonight’s show.

And as an added bonus: CREED!

My favorite moments?

1. “Please write legibly.”
2. Andy dancing in the parking lot – IT MADE ME SO HAPPY.
3. “Some people sweat too much for comfort.”
4. “I am a man of intensity. Of cool and youth. And passionately.”
5. JIM WITH THAT RING – OH MY WORD AT THE SWEETNESS.

Yours?

It was the ring, girlfriend. It must made me feel all gushy inside.

The awkward coffee shop date? How many times have I lived that myself?

You’re quick tonight Sophie. Quick. Quick. Quick.

LOVED when Jim asked Pam if he would mind *llooooooooong pause* waiting for him to tie his shoe.

So spankin’ sweet.

My heart skipped a beat when Jim, um, tied his shoe. That adorable rascal! I feel an end of season cliff-hanger coming on with those two…yet again. How they love to toy with our emotions.

Michael calling up “Wendy” for a date – hilarious. Sassy redhead, indeed. That was classic Kevin.

Okay, just one more week to wait for the next episode! :-)

jim and pam, pam and jim.

Loved him giving her a heads up and I about fell out of my recliner when he got down on his knee.

Michael saying he wasn’t michael then getting called out was some kind if awkward.

OH…MY…WORD! I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one who is cringing more than laughing at these last two! I thought something was out of kilter on my laugh-o-meter! I do love this show, though!

I loved that when Creed was on camera, his computer had solitare on it. Everyone else had a screen saver or work but not Creed!

i loved when jim told michael that he didn’t even know the dead catalog girl, and it showed pam shaking her head at him. love their relationship! i have to keep reminding myself that they are just characters…

Oh my gosh, when Jim pulled out that ring, I screamed RIGHT OUT LOUD.

My favorite line from tonight…

Andy (to Michael)- “We won’t dissappoint.”
Michael- “You can’t.. beacuse I don’t care.”

I also loved the cemetary scene where Dwight told Michael that all he needed to do was wait until next years catalog! Ha!

Love it so much!

about to go watch it right now!

All things Jim and Pam… or should their celebrity name be Jam??

Reply

Oops – posted too quick. I loved Jim saying “oh.. you don’t know her.” about his date recommendation, then “Your mom.”

hahaha

“Pam will you……. wait for me while I tie my shoe?”
Oh. my. word.
I love all things Pam and Jim really…
And the dancing in the cemetary singing “American Pie”.
And Michael calling Jan when he meant to show the lady her picture.
I am soooo going to have to watch this one again on nbc.com later this weekend.

ok so Jim’s cute but he lost major points with me last week when he was going to abandon Pam at the most awkward party ever — not cool

Creed: “I’ll get Pam’s chair and then I’ll have 2. One more to go.”

LOVE IT!

I’m just so happy it’s back!!!!!:)
-loved Jam of course they are sooo cute
(he bought the ring after their first date :)
-Andy doing the victory dance in the parking lot was nothing short of awesome
-I love that Dwight is so loyal to Michael that he would do all the research on the chair girl & then take him to the graveyard
-What is Creed going to do with the 3rd chair?

This is our favorite show! We missed it SO much!

Of course we gals dearly love the whole Pam and Jim thing. And in the talking head part where Jim showed us the engagement ring, and said he’d had it since their second date? Much awwwww-ing. And our 13 yr. old girl said “why don’t they make guys like Jim any more?”

On an aside, did anyone else wonder what was up with Big Tuna’s hair???

Kathleen April 18, 2008 at 5:58 am

Does it may me twisted if I thought getting on one knee was breathtaking. I couldn’t believe he would ask her in the parking lot – then he didn’t. The way Pam handled it made it not cruel, but funny.

I think the accidental phone call to Jan was an open door to their getting back together – perhaps she heard all of the “nice” things he said about her.

I was not enthralled with this episode except that Jim bought the ring after they’d been dating a week. I about died. I too have to keep reminding myself it is not a real-life relationship. :) I swoon.

Anyway, yeah. Thought it was one of those more painful than funny episodes.

DId anyonelse notice that when Kevin was talking with Michael about Stacey breaking up with him, it looked like he was using his foot massager that he got at the christmas party a few years back! Seriously, he had his pants rolled up and his shoes off! HILARIOUS!

I so loved last nights episode. And the ending made me die! My husband laughed so hard and commented that I would have probably hated him if he tried to pull that shoe tying thing on me….

Jim and Pam are the obvious answer…but I have to say that I love Phyllis. I just love her.
‘call us when you get there so we know you’re safe’

And Dwight, oh Dwight. I love him too.

Kevin really shined tonight too.

I have been waiting for The Office discussions to resume. OK in order:

Michael during his speech about the staff fixing him up with one of their friends “I need your help, I am a catch, and I am not going to be the one that got away”.

Phyllis: “Well I’m setting Michael up with my fat friend anyway, he can just deal with it”

Michael calling “Wendy – the hot and juicy redhead” (hysterical scene)

Dwight to Michael about the chair model- “Michael, you shouldn’t have to settle, I will find her, I will bring her to you, and as God as my witness, she shall bear your fruit”

And of course, the made up words to Miss American Pie at the end, and then the graveyard dance. Classic Michael and Dwight.

A ring? A ring? Last night, I missed the episode, but my dear hubby watched it for me. I asked him what happened and he told me about the catalog girl and Wendy’s, but never mentioned a ring….How do you leave a detail out like that? When I ,in a very subtle and loving way, chastised him, he said, “Oh yeah, there was a ring…sorry.”

Sarah April 18, 2008 at 8:00 am

Andy dancing was too much! I loved the entire episode. I’m so glad it’s back on. And I teared up with Jim and the ring. Precious.

Definitely the comment about Wendy being the hot red head! My husband and I laughed out loud for a long time. I think we missed the next line over it. Oh, and that is what he calls me! Gotta love him.

“No. Alright? No, she can’t fit in a rowboat.”

“I lost a penny out of my loafers, Oscar!”

“Ladies and gentlemen, would you please open your supply catalogs and kindly turn to page 85.”

“I’ll have two chairs. Only one to go.” (I’m still cackling at that this morning.)

“I’m a catch and I’m not going to be the one who gets away.”

“What part of shorn’t don’t you understand?”

Laughed so much, and even teared up twice-the whole ring thing and when Kevin said, “It feels good to win one.”

“Pam, would you wait for me while I tie my shoe?” Love that. So, so sweet. He bought it after they had been dating a week.

Andy dancing cracked me up! Loved it.

I can’t believe that he’s had that ring this whole time. I am also bracing myself for some kind of major disappointment… it seems too good to be true, considering their star-crossed history. But oh, the sweetness.

I also loved the “shorn’t” line.

Last night was soooo good!! Love Jim and Pam! So cute that he gave her a head’s up. Loved when he said “Stay sharp”!

I hope there’s not going to be drama though…I can’t handle another ‘Ross and Rachel’ ordeal!

Oh, the ring! I burst into tears. I had to hold my face in my hands so I wouldn’t scream and make the baby cry. My husband said, “It’s a TV show, don’t worry.” And I said, “Noooo, it’s not just that! It’s every girl’s dream!” Yeah, I’m a sap. :)

I would just like to say that I’m new to all this blog stuff, but I am crying with laughter remembering some of these moments. And since no one in my office was actually able to watch the show last night, I’m glad to talk of it with you. All I have to say is this:
“What is it like being single? I…like it. I like starting each day with a sense of possibility. And I’m optimistic, because every day I get a little more desperate, and desperate situations yield the quickest results.”

“What part of shornt don’t you understand?”

Ok so I am feeling a little shame that no one has mentioned the quote that made me laugh obnoxiously loud. Am I the only one who thought it was hilarious when Michael said “Hello Oscarmayerweinerlover”?

Reply

Christine April 18, 2008 at 9:30 am

“Please write legibly” gave me a good giggle because, and I’m not kidding, yesterday I filed out a form for a city government that read “Please tpye orh and write legibly”. The errors are intentional. That’s actually what that phrase on the form said. I laughed when I read it and I laughed again last night on the show!

I’m with Embarrassed, the Oscar Mayer comment was so funny, we had to rewind and watch it again.
My favorite was the whole “can she fit in a rowboat?” scene.

Am I alone in thinking that the role of the Chair Model was played by Jan?

I love Dwight’s advice for Michael’s future in dating:
“You wait till next year’s chair catalog comes out and you see who’s still alive.”
Advice we all can live by.
