This Is Practically, Like, Five Thousand Words

in My Friends Rock

Now that I’m home again and have access to my camera’s USB cord, I thought I’d post some of my pictures from Nashville.

Which is pretty convenient since HEY, Y’ALL, I CAN’T THINK OF NO WORDS RIGHT NOW.

Here are my fun friends Keely and Chris when we met for coffee (and pie! and brownies!) in Franklin this past Tuesday.

Both of these sweet people were on the Compassion trip to Uganda. I heart them a whole bunch.

Chris’ husband Randy also met us for coffee. But he was late because he was trying to take a photograph of a mother robin feeding her newly-hatched baby bird in the nest outside his kitchen window.

And if you know Randy, you’ll recognize that this was really no different than any other day for him.

Because I think he could stare at All The Nature while saying the word “awesome” over and over again for pretty much the rest of his life.

So anyway. Where was I?

Oh yes.

Right here:

Say it with me, internets: “KEELY IS SASSY.”

So we went to an adorable restaurant and sat down and I got very, very tickled when I saw everyone texting and Twittering. Because my phone and I, we can barely text. In fact, we just te-.

I’ll give you one guess as to which phone is mine.

Oh, I am very techy.

I seriously think that my phone had developed an inferiority complex by the time our coffee (and pie! and brownies!) date was over.

Because I’m telling you: those iPhones and Blackberrys can do some TRICKS.

Anyway, coffee was so much fun that we followed it up with supper.

These boys make me laugh. And they LURVED it when I snapped their picture in the dimly-lit restaurant. Because they weren’t briefly blinded by the flash OR ANYTHING.

And you know, I wish I could rock a FundanaTM as effectively as Keely rocks her Funbeanie.TM

Perhaps that will be my fashion goal for spring.

Have a great weekend, everybody!

When I saw the phone picture I was all like “Hey, did BooMama steal my phone??”

I love Franklin and I loved the pictures! Next time, can I come? :)

Blessings,
Dori

My cheap-o pay-by-the-minute ugly flip up phone thinks your phone is a hottie. We should get them together sometime.

I’m working on learning to text. Next week I’m going to try to learn how to do some punctuation so I don’t have the world’s longest run-on sentences that make no sense.

Three iPhones in one place! I’d better not show this to my husband, or he’ll start whining again. ;)

Aw, I’m just tearing up a little bit looking at those sweet friends. *sigh* I miss them.

And Keely? You are fabulous.

I heard you were in the area, so I waved toward Franklin. :-)

Oh please Soph – don’t go all techy on me. I will be the last in this vast world of interwebbing. Although I don’t mind at all being the last virgin, I would just prefer to have a fellow friend with me to the texting end.

(Oh! The pictures look fun and perfect for a brownie! and pie! date.)

My husband bought me an i-phone for Valentines Day….I didn’t want it…I am very frugel (cheap) but let me tell you I really enjoy it….I text me grandkids as soon as they get out of school, I’ve used the map feature when we were lost in Chicago….and of course the weather, my e-mail….who new a Nana could be a techy? P.S. About 5 years ago I had the pleasure of tour Franklin with a guide from there named Paula….she was spectacular and I included her in my book. She was the perfect “Southern Hostess”….God Bless, Pam, South Bend

Oh the phone pic is FUNNY! That would totally be me! I am so behind, the texting and pic-ing and IM-ing, it’s all beyond me. I feel like I almost made it into that world, but not quite. I was on my way and then the babies started coming, and now…Now I can tell you where you can find the BEST deals for the six and under crowd…and that’s about it.

As some wise people once said, “Tell me more, tell me more, but you don’t gotta brag” :)

Actually those were the only lyrics from said-song that were in any fashion worth repeating! :) Gotta love “Grease”–even though sometimes, I’m surprised I watched it when I was my son’s age. He might get to see it when he’s 18.

Sounds like you had fun, what, with all the phone mingling. You should probably by your phone a new plate cover just so she doesn’t feel so inferior.

P.S. Click on my name and you can read my ‘thank you’ post because, well, um, I’m thankful for exposing me to Compassion.

Blessings.

you’re phone is so snazzier than my phone. mine isn’t at all shiny, and it doesn’t flip and i can’t even dangle a cell phone charm from it – if i were a charm danglin’ kind of girl.

if you click my name you’ll get to my compassion post, and a little boy who could use prayers today!

I love Franklin. I feel a little bit uncool when I go there, but it’s worth it.

Hubs bought me a Blackberry Curve for Valentine’s Day and I love it. It’s fun to text (which I just learned a few weeks ago), take pics, and surf the net while waiting in the pick up line at my kiddos school.

Now I am eyeing an iTouch! Oh no, the techno bug has hit me too! ROFL

Take the plurge, you’ll love it!

Oh Sophie . . . that is my phone, darlin’! Mine’s just an archaic shade of cadet blue — color only found on real cadets and in the Crayola box of 96 crayons.

We’ll be “techie” together. I can barely get my voicemail, not to mention my lack of texting abilities.

Loved the photos. Made me long for a trip to Franklin myself.

I love seeing how close you became with the other bloggers on your trip it really touches my heart! And you are right that Keely is a sassy girl…I must say I love her sense of style!

I did experience some phone envy but I repented and am doing much better now…ummm not your phone (I mean it looks nice and all) but the iphones :o)

Have a wonderful weekend!

I hold the world record for slowest text-er (that’s not even a word.)This is due in part to my fanatical need to punctate and capitalize everything. No shortcuts for me. And THAT is due in part to grading students’ papers that have NO capitalization or punctuation included. :)

My teens say it is incredible awkward and painful to watch me text. “Can I help you with that Mom?”

I don’t think Shaun’s phone is in that photo either unless he recently got a new one. I have one same as the one on the far right and I love it. No camera (I have an actual camera for the three photos I take every two years), but I can get my email and surf the web from wherever. Cool enough for me.

Oh gosh–that looks like me at our Disney Mom Blogger Mixer. They were twittering and blackberrying away, and mine doesn’t even take pictures!!

I noticed you have twitter in your sidebar now. We’ll see if I jump into that fray.
