I’ll tell you the winner of the Bonbon Charms fabulous charm bracelet in just a second, but first, an open letter to WordPress:
Dear WordPress,
I love you very much. But if you do not reactivate the numbered comment feature in WordPress 2.5, we may have to break up.
Because without the numbered comment feature, I HAVE TO COUNT COMMENTS AND STUFF.
In this case, I had to count comments ALL THE WAY TO 302, and quite frankly I am not a mathematician.
I finally figured out that I could count backwards from the last comment and arrive at the winner a little more quickly, BUT STILL. The bottom line is that without numbered comments I had to wake up this morning and do math and please remember that THIS IS A BLOG, WITH WORDS, NO MATH ALLOWED.
And please understand: I do not want to break up with you, WordPress. But a girl has her limits. And math is mine.
I appreciate anything you can do to rectify this situation in a timely manner.
Thank you, and also: your new picture loading process is troublesome,
BooMama
Now.
All that being said, the winner of the charm bracelet is commenter #302 - Sileena. Congratulations! Erica from Bonbon Charms will be in touch with you shortly.
And thanks, everybody, for the great response!

I should have you write letters for me. It could be a side job. Or something.

Yay for Sileena! She’s a personal real-life friend of mine… it was so fun to see her name here. :)
I’m loving your little twitter widget… I could stick one in my sidebar and tell all my friend who try to convince me to do more on Facebook that, see?, I have the same features on my blog. Why use Facebook? I love me some bloggim.

Yeah, that would stink. Counting. And on a weekend. Tell ‘em you didn’t sign up with Numeralpress. For goodness.

Hey BooMama,
WP is aware of the problem and they are implementing the fix with 2.6:

Although I don’t know what that will be coming out, it will be fixed then!

Hmm, I still have numbered comments on mine! Maybe your theme needs to be updated by your designer? Maybe you had some super-special html powered comments.

Oh yes indeed, Wordpress, please put the numbers back. I had a little contest the other day and was SO happy when random.org came up with #3 out of 300, because the counting, oh the counting and just when you are half way through a 4YO comes up behind you and shouts BOO! Not good for my nerves.

The very COOL thing about uploading pics is the ability to upload 20 and then do “insert gallery” so that you get a bunch of thumbnails.
Also, that they downsize the pics for newbies who don’t know how to do that for web first…that’s cool.
I think the comments are still numbered in “My Comments”, but you’ll have some old and new mixed together, so that probably doesn’t help much.
I have had my share of suggestions with them as well…they seem very responsive. Be sure to email them under “Support”. I’m sure you’d have an ear with this kind of traffic.
