A Few Announcements For The Class

1. Shaw-awn has some nifty info about how you can become more involved with Compassion through blogging. Pretty cool stuff.

2. And speaking of Compassion, there’s a brand-new Compassion Bloggers website. Once you click over, you can find info about the upcoming bloggers’ trip to the Dominican Republic. The bloggers still haven’t been selected, so there’s still time to throw your blog into the ring if you’re interested.

I also feel strangely compelled to tell you that I’m the only Uganda blogger whose last name isn’t showing up on the site yet.

And for whatever reason, I’m kind of entertained by seeing me listed with only one name.

Because it makes me feel like Beyonce’.

Or Prince.

Or The Non-Artist Formerly Known As BooMama.

3. Trista needs some information and suggestions from the people who are interested in the Birmingham Bloggers’ Meet-Up / Girls’ Night Out / All-You-Can-Eat-Catfish Party.

(I totally made up that all-you-can-eat-catfish part.)

(But wouldn’t that be delightful?)

By the way, Auburn Gal suggested that we call the get-together BLAWGHER, which cracks me up every single time I think of it.

Because, um, THAT’S PERFECTION.

See y’all later!

  1. Erica (A Yankee In Jawja) says:

Aww, I wished I lived closer (I’m outside Metro Atlanta). I’d love to meet some of ya’ll.

Not to mention my wide Yankee rear-end has never been to an “all-you-can-eat-catfish party.”

  2. Thought maybe you were keeping your surname on the down-low. (I was going to fork it over to the highest bidder.)

I would loooooooooove to go to the DR with the bloggers. I sent in my app. Do they only pick really famous people who go by one name?? I’ll keep working on that.

  3. BLAWGHER. Perfect.

  4. I love the name, Blawgher! It’s great!

I would like to go, by the way. When is it?

  5. If I didn’t live so far away, I would definitly show up for all-you-can-eat catfish! And I do think that Blawgher is the best name ever. :o)

  6. I want to GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I submitted my name, but I’m sure the odds are greatly against me. If God can be nagged into granting a request, I may have a shot.

  7. Am I allowed to schedule my Alabama trip around the time of the B’ham meetup and show up? Hi, I’m Ashleigh from California, but I like to pretend I live out here.

Just kidding. That would be so tacky. And I’m truly not THAT tacky. Cross my heart.

  8. OK, Birmingham is quite a drive from Nashville. Too far to go for dinner, anyway. Now, if we were to schedule a Nashville blogger get-together, I’d totally be up for that. :-)

  9. I was gonna say if catfish, especially all you can eat catfish is involved, I might be willing to make a road trip back to the Ham … and of course to meet you and the girls ….

  10. Would love to meet you all but it is a little too far. How about a Texas meet up with lots of TexMex!

  11. I think the BLAWGHER is a great name
I am looking forward to the get together
And I totally think it should be an all you can eat catfish party – LOL
    Kim

  12. Blawgher is an awesome name!

  13. BLAWGHER. I’m dyin’ here. Laughin’ and bein’ jealous all at the same time.

  14. Okay – I have been a teeny bit jealous of the B’ham blog get together because I want to come …….but now that you have added all you can eat catfish (and hushpuppies) – I am THERE!

  15. I wonder if my husband would think I’m completely nuts if I drive from Mobile for this Blawgher thing…

  16. I just found my way over through someone’s blog roll. Love your sense of community.
