Summertime Book Giveaway

in Rambling

One of my favorite things about writing on this here wideworldintertubeblogsite is that I get to share stuff I like with you, the internets. And today, I am ever-so-delighted to share some books by Marla Taviano, who has one of the most down-to-earth and engaging writing styles that you ever did see, amen.

Marla writes about stuff that many of us can relate to – marriage, babies, and the, um, activity that leads to the babies – and she does so in a way that makes reading her books feel like you’re talking with a girlfriend who has been right where you are and knows exactly how you feel.

No self-righteousness, no here’s-what-I-think-and-you’re-wrong-if-you-don’t-think-the-same-thing. Just practical, sound encouragement from someone who is grounded in Truth and wants to spur on her readers as they make their way through a season of life that can sometimes get a little cuckoo.

Triple love that.

Marla is giving away five copies of her books, and if you’d like to win one of them, here’s all you have to do:

1. Click here to visit Marla’s website.

2. Take a look at her three books. You can even read excerpts while you’re there.

3. Come back here and tell me which book you’d like to win.

4. That’s it!

I’ll leave this giveaway open until next Monday, June 9. At that point I’ll use random.org to draw for five winners.

And if you think you can’t possibly wait until then, or if you know that you’d like to give Marla’s books as gifts, you can take advantage of what she has dubbed her Fancy BooMama Special (picture me, eating fried chicken and blushing) and buy all three books for only $20.

Personally, I think that three brand-spankin’ new books for $20 is a mighty fine deal indeed.

I hope y’all enjoy digging a little deeper into Marla’s books – I know you’re going to love them.

Have fun, everybody!

Am I really the first commenter? Well, then, I’ll never win! The random integer thingie never picks number 1!

Nevertheless, I’d like either Changing the world one diaper at a time (I’m a mom of 10m triplets…this would be a very appropriate book for me)

OR

Is that all he thinks about because well…we have 5 kids!

have a great night.

Bring on the sex! You can never learn to much about it! H

brandiandboys June 5, 2008 at 8:22 pm

I’ve got the sex book and it’s quite good. Love Marla and I’m always amazed by all she has going on.

Katey June 5, 2008 at 8:35 pm

For me.. it’s got to be Changing Your World One Diaper at a Time. I mean, who couldn’t use a little encouragement when it comes to being a mommy?.. especially if it’s grounded in the Word of God.

Jen June 5, 2008 at 8:39 pm

Fun! I’d love the “Is that all he thinks about” book! :-)

Suzanna June 5, 2008 at 8:46 pm

Changing Your World One Diaper at a Time would be perfect for me, as a new mom to a 6 month old. I read the first few pages of the excerpt and I’ve decided I need this book, even if I don’t win. Fingers crossed though! Thanks BooMama!

Angie June 5, 2008 at 9:32 pm

The SEX book, hands down! I guess the internet is as good a place as any to announce that that book might really come in handy these days… *cringe*

MaryBeth @ Four Silly Sisters June 5, 2008 at 9:33 pm

Gonna go with Is That Really All He Thinks About b/c my youngest three girls are already almost 2. We’re not going back to first year baby stuff ever, and DH and I are approaching our 9th anniversary this summer. Woohoo!

Emily C June 5, 2008 at 9:40 pm

Sweet Husband and I are hoping to enter into the diaper phase of life soon, so I’d love to have “Changing Your World One Diaper at a Time.”

Laurie in TN June 5, 2008 at 9:41 pm

I would get “Is That All He Thinks About?”. Actually, I would get all three because I would share them with my daughters-in-law!

Rebecca R June 5, 2008 at 9:57 pm

I first thought I would choose “Changing Your World One Diaper at a time”, but I think after some serious consideration, I think I would choose “is that all he thinks about?”

Thanks for referring a new author!

Misti June 5, 2008 at 9:59 pm

“Is That All He Thinks About” is a book that I could definitely use right now. If I don’t win, I’ll just have to buy it. ;o)

The Pumkin Patch June 5, 2008 at 10:37 pm

Definitely “Is that all he thinks about?”.

Minnesotamom June 5, 2008 at 10:39 pm

“Is that all he thinks about,” for sure. I’m glad to see by the above comments that I’m NOT ALONE in my need for this book. I was embarrassed at first, but realize I’m one of millions of women who have some needs in this area. :)

Is That All He Thinks About?

seas June 5, 2008 at 11:13 pm

I would love to read “Changing the World, One Diaper at a Time”. Thanks!

Leslie Ruth June 5, 2008 at 11:16 pm

I’m past the Blushing Bride to Wedded Wife transition. I’m not yet at the One Diaper… phase. So, I’ll go with “Is that All He Thinks About?” For my DH, it’s not, but I’m always looking for greater wisdom and good tips where mattress dancing is concerned.

And judging by the other comments thus far, so are most of us!

Thanks BooMama!

Susanne June 5, 2008 at 11:26 pm

Is that all he thinks about is the one for me too please.

Connie June 5, 2008 at 11:47 pm

Changing the World…since I’m due with my third in October. Thanks!

Gabe Taviano June 5, 2008 at 11:59 pm

WIN this book, read it, and do everything Marla says. Edited version of my (her husband) phrase on the back of the Is That All He Thinks About book especially for BooMama’s giveaway!

As a wife, mother and author, there have definitely been days my wife needs some encouragement. She needs a boost like we all do, and I’m thankful God’s brought her many more smiles through your blog!

Bev June 6, 2008 at 12:33 am

Looks like I’m going with the crowd and hoping for “Is That All he Thinks about?”.

Amy Martin June 6, 2008 at 6:29 am

Going with everyone else…bring on the sex!

cindy June 6, 2008 at 6:34 am

Is That All He Thinks About? seems to be the top dog here. But if I were going to win a book I would have to choose that one also. Even after 25+ years of marriage and 3 mostly grown children, there’s still room for improvement (I just hope there’s still “time”.)
