Summertime Book Giveaway

in Rambling

One of my favorite things about writing on this here wideworldintertubeblogsite is that I get to share stuff I like with you, the internets. And today, I am ever-so-delighted to share some books by Marla Taviano, who has one of the most down-to-earth and engaging writing styles that you ever did see, amen.

Marla writes about stuff that many of us can relate to – marriage, babies, and the, um, activity that leads to the babies – and she does so in a way that makes reading her books feel like you’re talking with a girlfriend who has been right where you are and knows exactly how you feel.

No self-righteousness, no here’s-what-I-think-and-you’re-wrong-if-you-don’t-think-the-same-thing. Just practical, sound encouragement from someone who is grounded in Truth and wants to spur on her readers as they make their way through a season of life that can sometimes get a little cuckoo.

Triple love that.

Marla is giving away five copies of her books, and if you’d like to win one of them, here’s all you have to do:

1. Click here to visit Marla’s website.

2. Take a look at her three books. You can even read excerpts while you’re there.

3. Come back here and tell me which book you’d like to win.

4. That’s it!

I’ll leave this giveaway open until next Monday, June 9. At that point I’ll use random.org to draw for five winners.

And if you think you can’t possibly wait until then, or if you know that you’d like to give Marla’s books as gifts, you can take advantage of what she has dubbed her Fancy BooMama Special (picture me, eating fried chicken and blushing) and buy all three books for only $20.

Personally, I think that three brand-spankin’ new books for $20 is a mighty fine deal indeed.

I hope y’all enjoy digging a little deeper into Marla’s books – I know you’re going to love them.

Have fun, everybody!

This giveaway is now closed.

Is that all he thinks about?, yeah that’s the one I need.

:)

One More Equals Four June 6, 2008 at 6:45 am

It is a toss up between “Is That All He Thinks About” and “Changing the World One Diaper at a Time” I could use them both–perhaps I’ll take the offer on all three and give the other as a wedding gift to an unsuspecting bride!

Is that all he thinks about?

Yes hun, yes it is.

Alison June 6, 2008 at 7:28 am

“Is that all he thinks about”

Candace (Mama Mia) June 6, 2008 at 7:32 am

I’ve never heard of her before- thanks for the introduction. I’d like “Is that all he ever thinks about.”

Thanks!

Is That All He Thinks About?

Jennifer June 6, 2008 at 7:39 am

I am sure I would enjoy either the sex book or the general marriage book. However the diaper book is no longer needed in our house seeing as we are done with that phase of our kids lives.

Rebecca June 6, 2008 at 7:43 am

Changing your world one diaper at a time!

Sporty Mama June 6, 2008 at 7:46 am

Is That All He Thinks About?

Because I really do ask myself that question.

Amanda June 6, 2008 at 7:46 am

I’ve read Wedded and Diapers, and bought more for friends and family in those stages! But not ITAHTA.

I’d love to though! (Sign me up?!)

May I add to anyone who hasn’t read her before… she is a funny, sweet, and honest author. Reading Marla is like sitting and having coffee with someone you care about… you get the distinct saticfation, that she cares about you too.

Enjoy!

I would LOVE the “Is That All He Thinks About?” book. Looks great! :)

Tabitha June 6, 2008 at 7:48 am

They all look good, but I would most like to win “Is that all he thinks about?”

“Changing your World One Diaper at a Time” also looks really good though, so it isn’t an easy decision! Thanks for the giveaway:)

Andrea June 6, 2008 at 7:50 am

Oh, it’s a toss up between the sex book and the baby book.

amy June 6, 2008 at 7:55 am

Christina June 6, 2008 at 7:55 am

Because it sure seems that way sometimes

Chelle' June 6, 2008 at 7:56 am

I would say that I’d want the “Is That All He Thinks About Book” but I’m fairly certain, having never read it, that I know the answer… YES!!!

Nah- I’m just kiddin’ (not about the answer… just about not needing that book)

BRING IT ON!!!

Liss June 6, 2008 at 8:02 am

I’d love a copy of Is That All He Thinks About!

Tracie June 6, 2008 at 8:03 am

Is That All He Thinks About?
I have a friend getting married in August and I think this would be a great addition to her lingerie shower gift.

Butterbean June 6, 2008 at 8:10 am

I’d like to win “Is that all he thinks about?” Thanks!

Mary M. June 6, 2008 at 8:10 am

Changing Your World One Diaper at a Time…

I’m going to be a first time Mom in December.

Jackie Sue June 6, 2008 at 8:14 am

I’d take a Christian book on sex any day :), plus the fact that being an older wife/mom the other two don’t so much speak to me, but I could certainly give them away. All three sound good.

Angela June 6, 2008 at 8:15 am

It has to be Is That All He Thinks About? Been married 19 years and I still have that question….lol!!

I never win anything, hope my luck changes!!

Kristi June 6, 2008 at 8:18 am

Is That All He Thinks About?

Sounds like a good read!

CarrieLynn June 6, 2008 at 8:20 am

Is that all he thinks about?

Katie June 6, 2008 at 8:27 am

I totally want the Diaper book – my little lady is almost 4 months old, and I sometimes am literally up to my elbows in diapers.
Thanks!! :)

Changing Your World One Diaper at a Time looks great!

Kimberly June 6, 2008 at 8:29 am

Is that all he thinks about? I must have this book, reading one chapter is not enough!!! :-)

Tara June 6, 2008 at 8:29 am

“Is That All He Thinks About?” Hands down. And by looking at the other comments I’m thinking that is a pretty common question!

Honestly, any of the books would be fun. I’ve got friends who need gifts, so if I win one of the others that’s totally awesome too!

Becca June 6, 2008 at 8:35 am

ooo I pick ” Is that all I think about?” I mean HE, “all He thinks about.” wink wink

Karin A June 6, 2008 at 8:37 am

“Changing the World, One Diaper at a Time”. –thanks!

Melissa June 6, 2008 at 8:47 am

Is that all he thinks about? – I think I NEED this book – if i don’t win, I’m buying it. Thanks for the resource link! I wish I’d had one diaper at a time when my kids were small. Boo Mama, you’re the best.

Melissa June 6, 2008 at 8:48 am

I don’t know if my comment added – Is that all he thinks about?

Patty June 6, 2008 at 8:55 am

Since my babies have been out of diapers for a long time and I will skip that and I am divorced so I think I will stay away from Is that ALL He thinks about , I pick the Blushing Bride book. Of course if the book, Changing the World , One Diaper at a time was about us older people who need a diaper if we sneeze, cough and sometimes laugh, that book would be for me. heehee

Thanks for the chance to win a book!!

I am laughing at all the ladies who chose, Is That ALL He thinks about…I don’t see the problem. LOL

Becca Mae June 6, 2008 at 8:59 am

I would like “Is That All He Thinks About…” The other two don’t apply to me anymore, plus who couldn’t use a better sex life?

Rebecca June 6, 2008 at 9:07 am

I would like “Is That All He Thinks About”.

Mama D June 6, 2008 at 9:08 am

Since I am WAY past diapers and have been married 23 years this August (married at 13;).) it HAS to be the sex book!

Vickie June 6, 2008 at 9:12 am

“Is That All He Thinks About” is the book for me. That title describes my man to a T. Some days I can’t decide if it’s a blessing or a curse.

Tyler June 6, 2008 at 9:13 am

I choose “Is That All He Thinks About.” The other two don’t really apply to life right now, but that one will be fun and interesting! :)

Brandie June 6, 2008 at 9:14 am

I would love “Is That All He Thinks About”, just reading the excerpt, it looks like some great truths! I may have to buy it if I don’t win!

Tabitha June 6, 2008 at 9:16 am

I would want “Is That All He Thinks About”.

Kari June 6, 2008 at 9:17 am

Wow, Marla looks like she’s got some great books available! Count me in for “Is THAT ALL He Thinks About”???!!!! :D

Pam June 6, 2008 at 9:19 am

I am past the diaper stage and have been in wedded bliss for years so I would like the “IS THAT ALL HE THINKS ABOUT”. How many times have I thought that to myself!!!

Cristy June 6, 2008 at 9:20 am

I actually did the Fancy BooMama special to give as gifts to three different women. (Of course I will read them first.) However I know two women that would benefit from Changing Your World One Diaper at at Time, so this is the one I’d like to win. Thank you. :)

Kim June 6, 2008 at 9:23 am

Is that all he thinks about? Definately need that book!

pinkmommy June 6, 2008 at 9:26 am

They all look great, but I am going to say Changing Your World One Diaper at a Time.

katy (aka funny girl) June 6, 2008 at 9:32 am

I was feeling a little bit embarrassed about my choice, but it looks like I’m in good company. Clearly I’m not the only one in this boat!!

Is That All He Thinks About??

:-)

Michelle June 6, 2008 at 9:39 am

They all sound great, but I would like to check out the “Is That All He Thinks About?” book.
