I Can’t Tell You How Much Leftover Guacamole I’ve Eaten Over The Years

Tonight’s episode of “The Office” was near perfection in my humble opinion. You had Michael fumbling – but not to the point of utter humiliation, Jim pushing Dwight’s buttons to beat the band, and FINALLY a decent level of interaction between Jim and Pam.

Plus, the conspiracy plotline? GENIUS.

Some of my favorite moments:

1) “Whenever I’m getting married, you don’t believe me.”

2) “Kelly Kapur is our dusty, exotic customer service rep….”

3) “What color is his shirt? Mustard or dijon?”

4) “WHAT DO YOU THINK I’M SAYING TO YOU?”

5) “…and there’s our smudgeness.”

6) “OUR PRICES HAVE NEVER BEEN LOWER!”

7) “I don’t want to be married in a tent like a hobo.”

8) Dwight driving in the parking lot.

9) Pam: “That’s what she said! That’s what she said! That’s what she said!”

10) “I was right. I was right. I was right!”

And finally: OH MY LANDS, DWIGHT KICKING IN CELEBRATION, I’VE NEVER LOVED ANYTHING MORE, WE WATCHED IT SIX TIMES IN A ROW.

To top off all the funny, we got a touch of bittersweet with Jim and Pam – and a touch of mischief with Dwight and Angela.

Tripled loved it. I enjoyed having a little break from All The Awkward.

What about y’all? What did you think?

I loved when Michael made them practice-
“Ask him what his name is.”
“What’s your name, sir?”
“Bill Buttlicker.”

I was laughing mucho. This was a fantastic episode.

The cups from Kelly’s party. Hi-larious. Angela’s picture cracked me up.

I only wish I could have seen more than six minutes of it. They show whole episodes online, right? We’re one of those rare, stone-age families without a DVR.

Loved, loved, loved this episode!! So much better than the last two episodes.

It was a true “Buttlicker.”

By FAR one of the best episodes in a long time. I laughed through the whole thing. The Bill Buttlicker interchange was PRICE-LESS. Ryan talking about avoiding office politics – perfect. Oh, Kelly. Good stuff.

Okay, I obviously need to start watching this show because I’m missing out on some good laughs! ;) I’ll add it to my TIVO list.

I wanted to mention that I’m hosting my 3rd annual “Holiday Cooking, Blogger Style” recipe exchange. Stop by if you care to participate or just see what’s cooking! :)

My favorite was Andy finding “the best tentist on the East Coast.” Missed a few other lines of dialogue because I was laughing so hard.

Reminded me of an earlier season when they gave us this: “Your dentist’s name is Crentist?”

“You said I could get any color I liked, so I got white.” Way to go, Kelly!
I think the reason this episode was soooooooo good was because Stephen Merchant directed and had lots of script input. For the initiated, he wrote, directed, and acted (a little) in the original Office on BBC. Genius!

Of course, I meant “uninitiated” !

Amazing. I’m a lurker on your site, but had to comment on how fantastic this episode was. We also watched the Dwight celebration a few times…LOVED when he immediately said, “Let’s get her.” HILARIOUS. And then Pam saying “Right Dwight is loud.”

Hysterical, but my favorite line was from Darryl: I’m not a big believer in therapy, but I’d go into my own pocket to cover his copay.
I laughed so hard!

Definitely one of the best episodes. However, if Jim and Pam break up or “take a break”, I’m done watching. I can’t ride that wave again. My husband and I met at work and I can really relate to them. I’m really hating the rehash of the “will they or won’t they” drama.

This was a great episode. I loved the cups from the party and Jim frantically checking to see if everyone had one.

I also laughed when Andy didn’t want Jim drinking out of his cup.

And the whole wedding at the Beet Farm- tooo funny!!!!

It was a good one! My favorite part was, also, when when Dwight kicked in celebration. The fact that he kicked so close to Phyllis’ head made it all the more hillarious!

I see your triple loved it and raise you a quintuple loved it.

The episode was fabulous. We replayed Pam’s “That’s What She Said!” again and again. :)

The smudgeness line was my fave.

Loved it! Totally made up for last week! Loved Pam saying “That’s what she said!” And the whole part with Jim, Dwight, and Michael practicing sales calls had me rolling.

“It’s a million dollar sale…”

I, too, lauged real hard at Pam’s “That’s what she said.” And Dwight’s driving! Sometimes I just cannot even take it. I love that show. The only thing I missed was a crazy Creed line: “Yeah, that’s all-inclusive.”

I thought it was hilarious! Loved the Mr. Buttlicker part. And the part in the beginning about the double weddings.

Not my favorite. I was thinking about it this morning and really couldn’t remember anything about it, unlike the first hilariously awkward first couple episodes. The first couple episodes were right on track with the first 2 seasons, when The Office was at its best. And I can’t tell you how tired I am of Andy and Angela together. That whole thing needs to end already.

One word: disappointed. Almost as disappointed as last season during the writer’s strike.

I totally agree with you! We LOVED it! I’m so happy that it looks like Angela is coming back around to Dwight. And Jim and Pam talking all day long is so cute.

Reply

Leann November 7, 2008 at 9:16 am

Pam: “It’s probably because you spent the whole year flirting with the receptionist.”

Jim: “Maybe. Worth it.”

LOVED it.

SO! MUCH!
Smudge in my new favorite word. “He’s so smudge and arrogant.”

PERFECTION! Loved it. Top to bottom. It was AWESOME!

Beat that capital letter love action!!

And how much fun is Dwight in ‘go get ‘em pose’ when he walks with his chest leading!!!

Best episode of this season!

Ever try making some guacamole with swiss cheese mixed in? It’s good, but the name is somewhat of a turn-off.

The ‘mock sales call’ had me cracking up – “it’s a million dollar sale!”. This is the best episode of this season – so much better than last week’s.

I was a little disturbed by the fact that I own the shirt Angela was wearing in last night’s episode. But glad to know Angela is also frugal with her money….Target baby!

Reply

Faith November 7, 2008 at 10:06 am

Oh, it was perfect in every way!! Loved the mock sales call. And, Dwight’s kick at Phyllis’ head – hilarious!!

Megan November 7, 2008 at 10:06 am

Last night watching it when Michael made the guacamole comments I thought “that’s so got to be boomama’s title for the post” Such a great episode. I did miss Holly.

After the last week or so I was worried. Last night was pure comedic PERFECTION.

I’m a new convert to The Office, and I LOVED last night’s episode! I laughed out loud SO many times, which I rarely do when watching television. I absolutely love it when Jim harasses Dwight – it makes my day.

And I loved Pam’s, “That’s what she said! That’s what she said! That’s what she said!”

And even though they’re just TV characters, I want to scoop up Jim & Pam in a big hug & tell them it’ll all be fine if they’ll just work on it.

The two-story tent with a honeymoon suite from “the best tenter in the northeast.” Oh, my word!!!!!

I must be too picky. Still not as funny as I hoped, although we did crack up at “That’s what she said” and the Dwight confusion with the bluetooth. I don’t want Pam and Jim to become too much of a serious aspect. I want happy lovey-dovey in my life.

Reformed Grits November 7, 2008 at 1:16 pm

Oh my can I say my Dh and I have said, “DWIGHT GET OUT OF MY NOOK!” about 486 times since last night! I think we rewound half of that one about a zillion times. MUCH better than last week!

Kelly @ The Feathered Nest November 7, 2008 at 1:26 pm

Loved it!! All of it, but especially when Dwight and Jim screeched around the parking lot so they could talk without being overheard- too funny!

Reply

Two Words: Mr. Buttlicker HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! One of the best episodes so far this season!!

Reply

Loved thats what she said!!! also when Dwight and Michael acted like Jim’s purchase was real! Mr Buttlicker…

Reply

Gabby November 7, 2008 at 2:57 pm

I loved every minute. We laughed out loud, and I totally loved Jim and Pam on the phone.

The Buttlicker scene was classic.

One million dollars! I love Jim. He makes the show.

Did I mention the love I feel?

Hubs and I laughed our heads off
I love the beginning when Micheal had to call his mom and Andy said “SPEAKERPHONE!”
So funny!
I also enjoyed when Kelly was in Michael’s office and she was being repremanded but they both started laughing :)
I was sad about the Pam NY thing though and I really hope she does not decide to stay there
I would be so sad
Blessings

You are right on – it was a perfect episode. It is much better to have bumbling Michael than completely awkward-uncomfortable-to-watch Michael.

And your recap made me laugh all over again:)

We cracked up over how geared up Michael and Dwight got over the million dollar paper sale with Jim.

In fact, the whole show made our evening. It was truly a bit o’ medicine for my weary (and needing laughter!) soul.
