Daniel Renstrom CD Giveaway

by BooMama on 17 November 2008

in Jesus Music

About three or four months ago I heard a song by a guy named Daniel Renstrom. Daniel had a free song download on Brody Harper‘s blog, and since Brody and I have worked on several blog-related things together this past year, I’d made a point to check out Daniel’s song. I trust Brody’s musical judgment, you see.

Still with me? Good.

So I listened to Daniel’s song. Loved it. Emailed Brody and told him I loved it. Brody relayed the message to Daniel. Daniel sent me a free copy of his CD via iTunes because he’s nice like that. I listened to the whole thing (it’s an EP with six songs, so it’s easy to listen to the whole thing in one sitting). LOVED IT. Because in addition to the fact that Daniel has a phenomenal voice, his lyrics are tremendous. Deep. Thought-provoking. Saturated with Truth. Grounded in the Gospel.

And three months later, I still can’t quit listening.

So needless to say, I’m TICKLED to be able to share Daniel’s CD Adore and Tremble with y’all today. Daniel’s an independent artist, so this giveaway is coming straight out of his pocket. And I’m hoping more than anything that this giveaway will expose his music to people who haven’t heard of him before. Plus, you know, if you wanted to buy a CD or nine, that would be great, too. It would be an EXCELLENT stocking stuffer or a great way to treat yourself because, well, YOU ROCK.

Here’s what you do to enter the giveaway:

1) Click here or here to check out samples from Adore And Tremble.
2) Listen to the samples.
3) Come back here and tell me which song is your favorite. If you run into unexpected technical difficulties and can’t get the songs to play for some reason (or if you’re at work and feel that playing music on the job isn’t your strongest option), just tell me the name of your favorite singer / songwriter.
4) Then maybe go back here or here and marvel that you could own such quality music for such a low, low price (can you tell I have a soft spot for talented independent singer / songwriters? THEY NEED OUR SUPPORT, PEOPLE).
5) That’s all.

This giveaway will be open until Friday, November 21st, at which point I’ll draw for ten lucky winners!

Thanks for playing, interpeeps. And enjoy, y’all.

Hi. Dial up, you know. So, my favorite songwriter right now is whoever it is who sings that country song, “You’re Gonna Miss This”. Good reminder already this morning and it’s only 7:40 in the AM. Thanks for the giveaway!

Oh, I love it too! At the Cross and Where Could I go are my faves. Since today is my birthday, I think this qualifies me as the winner! :-) Ah, just kidding.

Hmm.. it’s a tie between “Quietly” and “Broken Cisterns”. I do love me some Jesus music, too… as evidenced by the player on my blog. One of my favorite “new” artists is Chris Sligh (from American Idol).. I absolutely love his song “Empty Me”. And Chris Tomlin’s “Jesus Messiah” is just incredible. Rock on, sister!

At the Cross may be my fave.

I love U2. I also love the lyrics of REM. Mindy Smith is awesome in her rendition of Jolene, and she has a song about losing her Mom to cancer, “One Moment More” I think is the title, but I am at work so..can’t check it out, it will make you cry and your heart hurt (and call your Mom, twice, if you can).
Looking for some Christian music to latch onto. I do love Travis and Unashamed Love CD… he rocks it out at the end!

At the Cross was my favorite – soulful and worshipful. (are those real words???)

I think my daughter would love this. She is in that independent artist category. Just put some videos of her from Sunday on my blog. She has saved her money to make a CD such as this, so we know how hard it is. Now to find the right studio engineer. I may have to buy 9 of these just out of respect for the whole process and because it is GOOD.

I have been longing for some new music. For whatever reason, I couldn’t get these clips to play. But most of the music you feature is right up my alley, so count me in. I love Third Day, Mercy Me, Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban. And most any new worship stuff from Vineyard and/or Hillsong that is out there.

Second post… just had to say that I didn’t realize that site was going out of business; I’ve ordered from them before. I ended up ordering Renstrom’s CD, along with ones from Chris Tomlin, Newsong, MaryMary (Shackles!) and Sandi Patty (Christmas music.. yum!). It all came to around $20 including shipping, so they have some amazing deals. Thanks for the hot tip on a new artist AND great deals!

We love Daniel’s music. He has an incredible ability to write deep theologically sound music that causes you to think of the amazing grace of the Gospel. Ok so he is my brother but I would still say the same thing anyway. Thanks for sharing Dan’s music with all of your readers.
