I’m Just A 44 Year-Old Guy With A Paper Route

by BooMama on 23 April 2009

in TV Is My Friend

Given all the funny in last week’s episode of The Office (“SPIN MOVE!”), tonight’s episode has some mighty big shoes to fill. Will The Michael Scott Paper Company get some new clients? Will Dunder-Mifflin beg Michael & Co. to come back? Will Al Capella get any $9,000 gigs (with a merch table, no less)?

I can’t wait to find out.

1. “Ever since I’ve gotten clean there’s something about fresh, morning air that just really makes me sick.”

2. “We think it says Alleluia Church of Scranton in Korean.”

3. “I don’t want to have said that. But I think it’s important that you know it.”

4. “Charles, I got your memo! Thank you!”

“Been there. Done that.”

5. “David Wallace! Hello we’ve been expecting you, David Wallace!”

6. “Come along, afterthought.”

7. “When a child gets behind the wheel of a car and runs into a tree, you don’t blame the child. You blame the 30 year-old woman who got in the passenger seat and said, ‘Drive, kid. I trust you.’”

8. “I say we fill Michael’s office with bees.”

9. “Aw, man – if only Michael had children. Then we could really apply the pressure.”

10. “See you upstairs, you titans of industry.”

“Well, we’re not only tight ends, we’re also quarterbacks.”

11. “Well, well, well – how the turn tables…”

12. “I’ll see your situation and raise you a situation.”

13. “How about $60,000?”

14. “OH – WE ARE SO. RICH.”

15. “One. Case of the Beet Bandit. Missing beets from all over the farm.”

16. “Wouldn’t you rather have a fishing pole than a fish?”

“I’d rather have $60,000.”

17. “I want my old job back. I want my old parking space back. I want a Sebring. And I want Charles gone.”

18. “Our balls are in your court.”

19. “That’s what I’m TALKIN’ ABOUT!”

20. Michael propping that foot up on Jim’s desk – PRICELESS.

Did y’all love it as much as I did?

It was THE BEST EPISODE EVER. My hubby and I hated to see it end.

We just re-lived it though.

So, there’s that.

Oooo! I’m about to go and watch it, Sophie. But I laughed out loud without having seen it just by reading your list. So it’s gotta be good!

Did you understand the gym bag comment yesterday? It was from “24′s” Season two.

Loved it, loved it, loved it. The look on Charles’s face the EXACT moment he realizes that Dwight is crazy and he has backed him.

The elevator scene, and can I just say that I loved every minute of Jim tonight and his low key hero ways.

Loved it to much I am watching it for the second time right now! JIM IS BACK! And Michael’s response to David was brilliant! Loved it!

Don’t forget…crunch. :)

Loved it! I was grinning by the end.

I laughed out loud when Angela and Kelley were listening at the door. I mean, louder laughing than normal occured.

And then, I watched the tivo’d Biggest Loser and realized that scene was on every commercial break ever yesterday. And I am seriously glad that the hysterical moment wasn’t ruined for me by the NBC show promoters. I mean, do they really need to ruin such a funny scene by over-exploiting it? No. The Office needs no over-exploiting.

ps. dont’ you just love michael scott for making Pam a sales rep…it was so sweet.

Hubs and I both hooted at the “turntables” and “balls” lines. It was a great episode.

Also liked the “you two are morons” line.

MERCH.

Also, I thought I couldn’t laugh any harder than I already had and then Michael put his foot up on Jim’s desk. One of my all time favorite Office moments.

I about peed my pants laughing when the van was stopped at a light and the lady got in the van with us – and no one blinked an eye. :)

I thought they were going to break out in applause when he kicked Charles out! I have to say that when I watch The Office now, I have an internal list of quotes that might make it to your list each week. It’s fun to read it and see how many things we both thought were hilarious!

I did, I did, I did! So funny and really something beyond funny. Just when I think that Michael is a total idiot, he hauls off and says something really perceptive…funniest show on tv today. except maybe Ugly Betty…love that one too.

The celebration in the conference room was my favorite part, after he goes through the big show of closing all the blinds to the windows. And to bring Pam back in on sales–wow! But what will they do with Ryan?

The translation of the Korean church bus made me laugh out loud for a long time. So funny! And then the Korean lady who got into the bus at the stop light. Kinda makes you wonder where they dropped her off?!

It was so good to see everyone back in good form! I loved it and didn’t want it to end! The elevator shot with Michael with his head between his legs was HILARIOUS! Thanks for the recap, BooMama. It made me laugh out loud, again!

Yes, these are all classic Office gems. The whole Korean thing was hi-larious. I also enjoyed the moment where they were at the accountant’s office and Michael asked the guy to crunch the numbers again. He simply looked at Michael and said “crunch” as he hit the key. Priceless!

The last three weeks have redeemed The Office for me; up until then, I thought this season was a bit lacking.

I LOVED it. Emphasis on LOVED. Because when he said “our balls are in your court” I about died laughing. And I cracked up at that Korean lady who kept getting in their van.

And did you love Jim as much as I did this episode? I was a little worried he was going to sell them out to get ahead. But he did the right thing, proving once and for all that Jim really is the best. :-)

Great episode. Funny. No more sad, pathetic Jim. I don’t know if anything will make me laugh like spin move, but last night came close. How about Kelly and Angela at the door? “What do you hear?” “Mmmph, awaa, mmm” or whatever. Hilarious.

I laughed so loud at the titans/tightends/quarterbacks line I thought I was going to be kicked out of the house. and the turn tables… this was one of the best in a long time.

I loved it and I particularly loved the “Our balls are in your court” and “How the turn tables” Oh precious Michael Scott — I want him to live in my house…okay maybe just my neighborhood.

We chuckled and chuckled about the Korean woman wanting to go to church. At A&M, I think we knew her…

It was delightful and de-lovely!

It was so great last night! I can’t ever remember all the quotes that make me laugh, so I love to see them listed here. Then, I can laugh at them all over again!

Sandi April 24, 2009 at 11:12 am

Haley,

They didn’t drop the Korean lady off at all! In a later shot they showed her still sitting in the van at the parking lot of Dunder Mifflin.

i LOVED the episode. it is so nice to see the strong, competant (well, you know, as competant as he can be (also, the spellcheck says that is spelled wrong but i don’t know how else you can spell that word…)). i love you listing the quotes each week. what a great way to bring all the great memories back.

I just finally watched it. I love it!

“No, Jim, I use a bad apiarist.”
(And yes ma’am, I did have to dictionary.com that word. See? Educational.)

“Steve Martin’s not dead, Michael.”

“I have no shortage of company names.”

I loved this episode! I was even a huge dork and burst into applause at the end when Michael turns the tables on Charles and says “No. No, you’re done.”

LOVED IT! And can I just say that I officially have a bit of a crush on Jim Halpert?? :)

And my favorite was definitely, “Come along, afterthought.” Priceless. Sounds like something one of my siblings would say. I almost fell off the bed laughing.
