Join Your Gangster Pumpkin On His Pallet Truck Of Doom

I still have such happy memories of last week’s episode of “The Office” that I’m almost a little scared to watch this week’s for fear of the inevitable funny letdown. You know, because I’M INSANE AND ALL.

But seriously, how do you top an episode where someone puts a listening device in a duck (MALLARD) as a decoy for the listening device that’s in the pen? And how do you top Jim saying “IT’S ALL GOOOOOOD”?

I guess that tonight’s the night when we see if it’s possible.

1) “This is the spookiest warehouse in the world, kids. Whoa. Scary, huh?” (loved Darryl’s delivery)

2) “This is a surgery with an octopus and a burn victim.”

3) “We’re selling success.” // “And paper.” // “That’s sort of secondary.”

4) “Sherman Blinds & Rugs, Suite Two-Oh-Two.” (I adore Andy.)

5) “Sounds like somebody has a case of the definitelys.”

6) “I date models. Face models. My girlfriend? On a scale of 1 to Giselle? Uh, a 9.”

7) “David Wallace called. He said you made a big splash at the meeting.”

8) The Do Not Mock List – CLASSIC

9) “I know the best teacher – her name is Miss Janet.” // “YEAH – on Clearview Avenue!”

10) “This sounds ridiculous, I know, but some people say that I eat like a squirrel.”

11) “It’s like a little foot just high-fived me…message received, little soybean.”

12) “Oh, I guess I’m a loser. A LOOOOOO-HOOOO-HOOOO-OOOOOOO-SER. Too far!”

13) “I gotta get my goin’ out on.”

14) “Jim is my enemy. But it turns out that Jim is also his own worst enemy. And the enemy of my enemy is my friend. So Jim is actually my friend. But. Because he is his own worst enemy, the enemy of my friend is my enemy. So actually Jim is my enemy. But.”

15) “What’s up, lifeguard?”

16) “He’s like the coolest person I’ve ever met.” // “Yeah – he’s like Marlon Brando.” // “Oh. Do you mean Marlon Wayans? Because he is.”

In the end this episode wasn’t as laugh-out-loud funny as last week, but the whole koi pond ordeal managed to humiliate both Michael and Jim – for two completely different reasons – and by the end of the episode our two co-managers were starting to interact like – dare I say it? – a team. Who’d have thunk it?

Plus, we got to hear Andy say my new favorite quote: “I gotta get my goin’ out on.”

That alone made the whole thing worthwhile.

What did y’all think?

  1. The whole Andy with his head on Pam’s stomach was awkward… You know, I watch the show thinking, “Ooo BooMama’s gonna quote that.” :)

  2. Oh my gosh people….”book-face”! It took me a second then I could not stop laughing.

  3. I was thinking the same thing!
Dwight’s friend/enemy speech reminded me of Vizzini’s speech about Iocane Powder. Haha.
Oh, my youngest (8) said “but she’s already married.” when Andy was all over baby Halpert. Too cute.

  4. I’ve said (written) it before-I don’t even watch The Office but your recaps are so funny they make me want to!

  5. “I was promised a list.” – Darryl.

And I loved, “Everyone knows the popular social networking site, Book-Face.”

  6. I loved when Creed said “Oh, you are paying too much for worms – who’s your worm dealer?”.

The Mock list – LOVED it, especially for Kevin: Huge Gut!

  7. Like Judy S, I watch with the thought “is BooMama going to quote this??”. Have to agree, not as laugh out loud funny as last week, but still really good. I love this show, and look forward to it every week! Love your blog, too.. look forward to IT every morning!!

    Have a great Halloween!

  8. Charlotte says:

Yes, Creed’s worm guy… love him (Creed, not the worm guy)!

Andy not being able to sing Suite 401, making his head hurt… but letting it out in the elevator.

The receptionist (her name eludes me right now) telling Pam to turn over the fax papers so she couldn’t see them… odd but funny… she and Andy would make a great pair!

A little awkwardy with the baby scene and Jim being caught, but the funnies made it bearable. Wish we could’ve had more Spooky Warehouse, less sales calls!

  9. i also loved when Darryl said, “I was promised a list.” And I love that everyone was dressed as something totally obscure. And I love that Michael hanged himself and then said “suicide is not the answer.”

  10. The whole Andy-and-Pam thing was SO awkward. I kept thinking, “This CANNOT end well.”

Poor, poor Michael – he always just goes a little too far, doesn’t he?

And Oscar really surprised me on this one: “You mean KOI Story?” Hahahahaha!

  11. Dear BooMama,

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your previous advice regarding spraying BOTH SIDES with the sheer blonde volume spray. I’ve had a bottle of that stuff in my hair product drawer but had not been using it because I had previously only used it on the under side. But now, it’s a whole new world!

I had a job interview yesterday & thanks to you, had the extra boost of confidence that can only come from a great hair day despite 98% humidity with a monsoon on the way!

    Thanks again!

  12. “I don’t want to say it out loud.”

“Come up here and write it. But don’t sign your name.”

    … sex with terrorist.

  13. We thought Jim was going to be demonstrating someone who has their “nose in a book”. HA!

  14. “big gut”

    so subtle, Michael!

  15. I love how Erin’s character is developing into this over-the-top-nice, over-careful, goody-two-shoes. Just adds one more crazy to the bunch. Love it.

  16. It was okay, but now I can’t stop looking at Dwight’s tiny nose.

    Love Angela’s new side-swept bangs!

  17. I loved the whole

I was going to sing that and resolve the melody – now my head hurts. I love Andy’s singing – LOVE. IT!

  18. I loved it last night! It’s so funny how Jim is adopting some of Michael’s mannerisms. I thought Jim would be above all that, but turns out, he’s not :).

  19. My DVR didn’t record it, so my husband and I watched it this morning online (which was a little annoying).

    HOWEVER.

You must go watch the rest of the security video (deleted scene) of Michael trying to get out of the koi pond. GOOD stuff.

Let The Office hilarity never cease…

  20. So you fell in?

No. Maybe I was trying to save a child that had fallen in.

So a child had fallen in?

    Not yet.

  21. I love your Office recaps. :) Have you seen the music video they mentioned in the commercials? I saw it online tonight (nbc.com) and it was so hilarious and I posted it on my blog. (There are also two shorts) Hilarious!!

  22. AWESOME! I just got to watch it tonight. “Case of the definitelys”… LO-OVE it! And the whole scene with Andy and Pam’s belly… Andy’s outfit tonight…The Best of All Time. Oh, and Michael’s costume…help us all. HAHAHAHA! This whole episode was a good ol’ good ‘un!

  23. Ditto what Christy said! The security video is hysterical! Classic Michael!

  24. I’ve been so behind on my Office episodes but just caught up tonight. FUNNY STUFF these past two weeks!

I love Andy so much and I felt like all of the Andy stuff tonight was hilarious.

I like the depth of character in these past two, and they have been unbelievably laugh out loud (a lot) funny.

  25. And OHMYGOSH, the costumes at the beginning! Fantastic. Oscar as Sarah Palin was PRICELESS.

Sophie, have you seen the Subtle Sexuality webisodes? Brilliance. Lots of Andy goodness, too.

  26. I thought you would like to know that my new husband and I are going to a costume party tonight as Jim and Pam. And not only that, but I am going as Cat Pam (from the Halloween episode last year) and my hubby is going as Facebook Jim. Love.

  27. I have been such a snobby “I don’t watch TV” person. My husband tried for a long time to get me to watch The Office. I tried, but it just didn’t make sense to me. And then one day he decided to start me out on episode #1 (on Netflix) and we made it through season after season. There are story lines there that if you don’t know, you just don’t get the show. We are usually a week behind so I haven’t see the last one, but the last few have been so hilarious! I am totally in Pam’s court – I would not want Michael dating my mother either!

  28. Glad you posted this because I missed nearly half of the episode due to weather interruptions! Darn Tornadoes!
