The Rest Of The Story Has Been Censored Due To Inappropriosity

by BooMama on 5 November 2009

in TV Is My Friend

After last week’s kinda-funny-but-nowhere-near-as-funny-as-the-week-before episode of “The Office,” I’m thinking we’re due for a humdinger (EVER THE OPTIMIST, I AM). I’m also hoping that we get to see Erin and Andy interact a little bit, especially after we found out last week that she thinks he’s the coolest person she’s ever met – even cooler than Marlon Wayans.

(And I don’t know how many of you watch “30 Rock,” but last week it made me so happy.)

(That has nothing to do with “The Office,” of course. But I just needed to say it.)

1) “Don’t mention it. You owe me one. You all owe me one.”

2) “That’s right. You’re a woman and you need to refuse food the first time. I’ll try again.”

3) “So open wide, Pam, and take a big ole spoonful of birthday lunch medicine. Take with food.”

4) “Pam? Aren’t you going to introduce us to Michael’s girlfriend?”

5) “I know. Isn’t that always how it goes?” // “Rarely. If ever.”

6) “That paper was never supposed to arrive.”

7) “Today’s about family.”

8) “Why did I even get in the car? I could have struggled. I have a whistle in my purse, and I didn’t even blow it.”

9) “You give me a gift? BAM! Thank-you note. You invite me somewhere? POW. RSVP. You do me a favor? WHAM! Favor returned. Do not test my politeness.”

10) “Here’s a healthy fitness tip. If you clinch your buttocks together while walking, you can really take the pressure off your knees.”

11) “I am going to pre-emptively change the batteries in your wireless mouse.”

12) “You’re 58 years old? Congratulations.”

13) “I am not robbing the cradle. If anything I am robbing the grave.”

14) “I will make everyone’s tacos!”

15) “You like lame things. It’s a generational sort of gap between us.”

16) “I want you to enjoy that cake because I have something terrible I need to tell you, and I want you to enjoy your cake before I tell you this terrible, terrible thing.”

17) “Who is Kafka-esque? I’ve never – I don’t know him.”

18) “There’s another woman – and her name is Italy. And skydiving. And bungee jumping.”

19) “It’s not my decision. It’s Mother Nature. And Mother has very strict rules about fer…tility.”

20) “What a waste of a day. I could’ve grown poison mushrooms that would’ve been this high by now.”

21) “I want to hit you. I want to hit you. We’ll do it after work. In the parking lot. I’m going to hit you as hard as I can.”

22) “Hey Pam. I heard about the hit. Just be sure it’s off of company property, right? Okay, well I think it should probably be okay.”

23) “PUT YOUR HANDS IN YOUR POCKETS!”

24) “What are you sorry for?”// “So many things. I don’t know. It’s hard to choose.”

25) “Wait. Why are you limping?” // “I DON’T KNOW!”

26) “I saw my entire life flash before my eyes. And guess what? I have four kids. And I have a hover car and a hover house. And my wife is a runner, and it shows. And Pam and Jim are my best friends. And our kids play together. And I am happy, and I am rich, and I never die. It doesn’t sound like much, but it’s enough for me.”

LIsten – that was one of my favorite episodes ever. It was the perfect intersection of Michael’s sweetness and his shallowness…everything we love about him and everything that drives us crazy. The whole break-up scene was BRILLIANT – especially since Michael’s kindness to Helene had finally won Pam over – and the sub-plot of Dwight and Andy trying to out-nice each other was hysterical. Loved it.

Did y’all love it, too?

I triple LOVED it too. I laughed out loud and some of the same points you did. Do not test my politeness. also,

There is no Schrute book of kindness – there’s only a survival guide.

So funny – classic Office!

I can’t wait to see it!

It was hysterical wasn’t it? It felt like whatever they had lost for awhile, they’ve gotten back.

Poor Micheal too… the guy needs major therapy! ;-)

Almost makes me glad I overdid it at the gym yesterday and can’t walk this morning, so I stayed home and watched last night’s episode!

Some how I knew – I just KNEW that once Michael really thought about how old Helene was he wouldn’t be able to handle it. He’s just that shallow – but I never dreamed he’d break up with her at the birthday lunch. How totally Michael-esque of him.

Dwight + Andy = MAGIC.

TOTALLY makes up for last week.

LOVED it!!! My favorite moment was during the break-up when I looked over at my husband. He was hiding behind the book he was reading, eyes shut and grimacing. I love it when Michael makes my husband cringe!

I can’t believe I fell asleep before the end. Going to go watch it now. It was great right up until I fell asleep though!

It was great! In fact, I think this might be the best season yet. Every episode has been so good! The wedding one is still my favorite :)

I don’t know how but I totally missed the whistle part at the end of Pam’s “why did I get in the car” comment! That makes it twice as funny!

Frankly, I don’t think I’ve ever NOT loved a single episode. Just looking at Micheal’s face cracks me up. He doesn’t even have to say anything.

I loved this episode. In fact, there were a couple lines when, as soon as they were said, I thought “That is so going to be on Boo Mama’s blog tomorrow.” :)

One of the best episodes ever! And I like that it was pretty clean – sometimes the humor makes me cringe but this stuff was laugh out loud funny. The whole thing between Andy and Dwight had me almost in tears – hilarious! And the moment that Michael realized how old Helene was? Priceless.

Loved it here too. I agree that it was brilliant because it was also not filthy. I love it when they can do funny and clean.

That was one of the best episodes I’ve seen in a while. The Dwight-Andy plot was too funny.

Brilliant episode.

OMG, when Toby was actually demonstrating to Pam how to punch with the most force… and Michael watching… so funny and pitiful at the same time!

When Pam went to find Michael at the restaurant and he was sitting at the bar… and then she said something like “Come on, Weirdo”… so nonchalantly.

And then when Michael offers Pam the raise because of her attitude and she says she has the worst attitude in the office.

I just love the relationship that Pam and Michael have… they can be so honest but yet she is still a little protective of him when he needs it… such brilliant writing and acting on this show.

Yes, I absolutely loved it too!

The Office is the ONE show I try to watch each week. Seriously. I don’t really have high TV viewing aspirations. Our TV is on PBS Sprout, Noggin, or ESPN otherwise. So, since “The Office” is my only TV “me-time” (I know, so sad and pitiful!) I think it should last an hour every week. These 30 minute episodes are just teasers!

ADORATION.

this episode made me cringe more in the birthday party scene alone than I cringed at Oprah’s karaoke fesitivites yesterday.

which is a LOT.

the starbucks gift card put me over the edge.

Loved it. Glad you mentioned liking last weeks 30 Rock – not being from the south I wasn’t sure if it was okay to laugh and now I know! I should have known because I like it when they make fun of Canada too.

I agree – I also look forward to reading your quotes from The Office. What about when Michael’s asking Jim to talk to Pam. And Jim says “I just need some time to think.” Michael: “Okay, how long?” Jim: “Just give me a week, two, tops” So funny! I love the writers.

You know what my husband noticed on some of the older episodes (that rerun on TBS)? Several of the writers and crew members’ names were: Angela, Phyllis, Creed, Oscar. It was weird and funny.

My husband and 16 yo son both laughed out loud when Creed said – “That paper was never supposed to arrive” AND “Why are LIMPING?” “I don’t know”.

Thanks for a chance to re-live the episode and enjoy it all over again!

I was delirious from a 36 hour trip to Atlanta, but as soon as I got home from the airport and we put the kids to bed we hunkered down to watch this episode.

Trust me I thought of you when he said inappropiocity and I am loving that you used it in your title!

So good! Have you watched the making-of Erin and Kelly’s music video on nbc.com? Hysterical!!! You must watch it:)

Oh, that episode made me so happy. I about died when Ryan was showing Erin his photography and they sort of flashed the (censored) “artistic” photo of Kelly in her cubicle. I thought I was going to dislike Erin, but I actually think she works well in the show. I loved this episode!!

Sandy November 7, 2009 at 5:59 pm

Oh, man. I knew Pam couldn’t bring herself to hit Michael. I also knew, the second he pushed her too far, she would turn around and wallop him one.

Leslie November 7, 2009 at 7:23 pm

After #22, when Toby gives Pam pointers on punching hard. “OK, you want to lead from your back foot…” I loved that part! We were howling over that. Love Toby.

Someday I think it would be so fun to watch The Office (and 30 Rock) with both you and Scott… he does this belly laugh that makes the show even funnier, especially at the stupidest parts.
And of course we should watch it while eating things covered in cheese and dipped in butter.

You don’t know me, but I know you. Spooky, huh? Well, I don’t actually KNOW you, but I do know your next door neighbors, the Andersons. Leah is my sister, so I heard the whole bizarre tale from her about how she’s been reading your blog and thinking you’re cool since forever, then found out that she’d be working with you, then found out that she’d be living next door to you. So, when you see her next, do an Army man a favor and tell her that you know her brother Russ. Say it mysteriously. Narrow your eyes like Brad Pitt in BURN AFTER READING. I’m enjoying a private smile now at the moments of confusion I’m sending her way.

I absolutely LOVED the episonde–every single part of it! I did have my own “The Office” moment yesterday. I am a Children’s Minister, and I was visiting with one of the elders at my church, and he “fist-bumped/explosioned” me (think early Andy). I thought I was going to die with laughter.

LOVED IT. Very classic Office. I laughed out loud. A lot. The Andy/Dwight plot was hysterical – those two are fantastic together!
