- You know how sometimes something strikes you as sort of funny, and then the more you watch it or hear it the funnier it gets, and before you know it you want to watch it over and over? Well, that was my exact reacton to this SNL skit. Also: Kristen Wiig is a treasure.
- I’ve read a couple of posts over the last few days that have really encouraged me as a mama: this post by Brandi and this post by Priscilla.
- Holly has written the sweetest post about her struggle with infertility, and I think you’ll love it. I did.
- I made Ree’s salsa Monday night after Melanie told me how good it was, and oh my word, D and I may be addicted. I used a little chili powder instead of cumin, but other than that I followed the recipe. And just FYI: I’ll be making another batch of the salsa goodness tomorrow.

This recipe is one of my favorites. I make it at least once a week and today when at the store actually did not get the ingredients. But I thought about it….

YES with the salsa! I made it last week and LOVE it! PW will be to blame for my 2010 weight gain. The cinnamon rolls, the perfect pound cake, plus others will be to blame:) Loving learning great new recipes. She is so talented and when I get a glimpse of her photographs in the cooking section of her blog, they make me want to go straight to the grocery store then stright back home to ‘try’ to cook:)
And we are really enjoying her great cookbook!
Blessings today and always,
Kaye

“I don’t know when to come in!” We loved it at our house too! But love EVERYTHING that Kristen does! Thanks for making me laugh again!

Love, love, love that Kristin Wiig. My girls are always doing her “one up” character with each other. So funny. She has got to be one of the most talented people they’ve had on the show in a LOOOONG time.
But, I have to say, the SNL video we’ve been watching over and over again is the “Doorbells” video. If you haven’t seen it (it aired over Christmas) you have to look it up. Hilarious!

Thank you, Sophie! You are a gem!!
Chris and I loved the SNL video so much. Now we are walking around going, “don’t make me sing.” Dee-lightful!

I have a similar recipe from a co-worker. You know what would make Ree’s salsa even better? Substitute a can of Mexican Rotel for regular Rotel. I’m telling you – it makes a HUGE difference. It has lime in it and makes the salsa seem so fresh.

oh, you’re making me sing, don’t make me sing….SO funny.
I’ve also had that whole ’sergio’ image in my head all week. It cracks me up. In a disturbing kind of way.

OK, I watched the SNL video and chuckled. THEN, today, all day as I was going about, I found myself thinking, “Don’t make me sing!” OVER AND OVER! So I had to go and watch it AGAIN! And then had my husband watch it! So you were RIGHT!!! :)

Oh Sophie! Thank you thank you thank you for recommending Ree’s Salsa. After 14 yrs. of marriage my husband & I both admitted we didn’t like the picante sauce we’d always bought. That same day I found your link to “The Reipe”. It was like divine intervention! I did a pantry inventory and got my self to the store to buy what I was missing. We are now both addicted! Thank you from the bottom of my salsa bowl.

Thanks for the linky love (a little late).
And, yes, Kristen Wiig IS a treasure!
