This Cookie Monster Thing Is An Opportunity To Show People That I’m An Authority Figure

It seems like it’s been about four months since there was a new episode of “The Office.” I can’t even remember what happened last time. Was it Andy and Erin at the dump? Did I miss one when I was out of town? Oh, wait – it was the one where they all went to a bar, and I watched it online because we had a Weather Event that merited live radar coverage for 45 minutes.

See? It’s all coming back to me now. Give me five minutes, and I’ll give you an exhausting, rambling account of past TV and weather events. It’s my spiritual gift.

Anyway. Let’s see what our friends in Scranton are up to tonight.

1) “Is that the program where all those puppets live in the barrio? Love that show.”

2) “If it wasn’t for secretaries, I wouldn’t have a stepmom.”

3) “I knew it existed. And I chose to let it die.”

4) “Yummmm yummmm yummmm yummmm yummmm.”

5) “They’re making fun of cookies. I get that. But in some way it feels like they’re making fun of me.”

6) “Would you mind if I listened to my book on tape? I’m kind of a bookworm. It’s a novelization of the movie Precious, based on the book Push by Sapphire.”

7) “I’ll have what she’s having!”

8) “I was just warming it up.”

9) “I think we can all agree that Angela is not so great.”

10) “I should probably get involved in this, but I think my energy is probably better spent on the Cookie Monster issue.”

11) “What? I was just slow-clapping your no-nonsense decision making.”

12) “Everyone here knows that I can’t and won’t keep a secret.”

13) “Take it up with the chief of police.”

14) “You are throwing up for the wrong reasons.”

15) “Sometimes the heart doesn’t know what it wants until it finds what it wants.” // “I hope you find what you’re looking for.”

16) “I gotta take this bad attitude, and I gotta go home, and I gotta adjust it, and I hope the suspension does that.”

17) “…humbly taking your hand, upon which I kiss to show my contrition.”

18) “What’s your real name? Lionel Frankenstein?”

19) “I think I have to be on my own a little bit, like that girl Precious, in Precious, based on the novel Push by Sapphire.”

20) “At least somebody made her happy on Secretary’s Day.”

What did y’all think?

  1. I lol’d the whole time. So great tonight!
    C is for suspension. :)

I don’t think I have ever commented on here before, but I have been a reader for a long time :)

    Jessy

  2. By far, my favorite part was when Erin made a scene in the restaurant. She was letting that crazy flag fly high!

  3. You forgot “My hair is my room.”
And the entire breast pump scene. Oh. My. Word.

  4. I haven’t watched this episode yet, but I already feel like I’ve gotten the important highlights!

  5. It was the best one they have had in awhile. And RHONYC was great too. It was a great Thursday night!!!

  6. So so so many good ones!

“In the foster home, my hair was my room.

    “C is for suspension.”

    “Ciao!”

The cake in the face made me GASP! It was awesome.

  7. I am going with Chelsea, “C” is for suspension…
    “…My hair was my room”

    Breast pump was gross!

    Ha! I loved this episode!

  8. Loo-ooved it! (said while clapping hands Tim Gunn style)

  9. Ashley R says:

I loved it when Erin threw the cake in Andy’s face. I wonder how long it took to shoot that because I would have laughed everytime.
    Nice aim, Erin. Nice aim.

  10. Jess from Jersey says:

“my hair was my room” was definitely great.

    The breast pump… blech!

  11. I just watched that episode and you got all of the good ones. The stepmom secretary was genius. Also Jim + Pam going home for the day – so clever. Thanks for the recap

  12. Oh my word, this episode was just too funny! The breast pump scene was excellent. My husband and I just laughed and laughed the entire episode!

  13. Oh my WORD. I just finished watching! I laughed OUT LOUD several times. I especially loved Dwight’s “puppets from the barrio” and “if it wasn’t for secretaries I wouldn’t have a step-mom”

This was one of the funniest ones in a while!

    Great re-cap!!

  14. Jess from Jersey says:

@MarytheKay: Oh yeah that was hysterical, but I still say nothing beats the time Dwight said, “R is among the most menacing of sounds. That’s why they call it ‘murder’ and not ‘mukduk’.”

  15. Definitely the best episode in awhile. Nice recap!

  16. carolyn says:

Loved The Office this week! And I am relieved because I was starting to (I hate to say it because it feels disloyal) lose interest. Soo many funny moments. It was great to see Michael uncomfortable by Erin’s brand of crazy. That is saying a lot!

  17. I didn’t get to watch it until Sunday night…and I THINK my favorite part was the scene in the restaurant…
    “My hair is my room…”

    and

“I asked for extra pickles and there are only like 5 or 6 on here”.
