So I know it may be a little strange, but I’m sort of endlessly fascinated by cereals.
Seriously.
I LOVE THEM. I’ve even written blog posts about them before.
And while I’d like to think that my cereal tastes show how I’ve grown and matured as a person, I pretty much like all the same cereals that I did when I was a kid.
Frosted Flakes? Yes ma’am. Brings back fond memories of staying up until 10 o’clock to watch “Charlie’s Angels” re-runs on a station out of Chicago. Frosted Flakes was always my go-to late-night snack.
Frosted Mini-Wheats? Please and thank you. It was hands-down my favorite cereal for the mornings. Not too sweet – and when the milk starts to change the texture of the wheat wafers just a little bit so that they’re slightly mushy but not soggy? That’s what cereal-eating will be like in heaven.
Apple Jacks? Why, I believe I will. They always remind me of spending the night with my friend Laura and playing endless rounds of Trivial Pursuit with her parents. I really have no idea why I associate those things with each other; I can only assume that I chose cereal as my snack food during our games.
However, recently my loyalties have shifted to a new cereal that my little boy discovered earlier this summer. He saw it one day in the cereal aisle, asked if we could PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE add it to our breakfast rotation, and since I am always a proponent of refining our cereal-related palates, I agreed.
You may have noticed that we are very fancy in our house. Very fancy indeed.
What I could have never known, of course, is that while the little guy would try and like this cereal, I would try it and LOVE IT. Except that I’m not really that sure that “love” is a strong enough word.

Oh my goodness, people. This stuff is divine. It’s different from other cereals in the cinnamon-sugar vein because it’s actually much more cinnamon-y than sugar-y. For that reason, it’s not too sweet for the mornings, but more than anything else, it is PERFECT for dessert. And as I’ve said before, if you are not familiar with the cereal-as-dessert-option, then clearly I have overshared. I do apologize.

I used to LOVE Apple Jacks! They are a little too young for me now as I have graduated to fruit and less sugary cereals but I remember the Apple Jacks days fondly…
I LOVE Cracklin’ Oat Bran! I know it sounds “questionable” but I love to eat it dry right out of the box or it is really good crushed and sprinkled on peach yogurt! Yummm!!!
I know it sounds crazy, but I love Corn Flakes. With sugar, of course.

Rice Krispies – not so much for the cereal, but for the treats.
My fave from childhood is Cookie Crisp! Cookies for breakfast? Heckyeah!
My fave was always Captain Crunch. I loved it!
I love Raisin Bran and Cracklin Oat Bran. When I was younger, probably Apple Jacks.

i grew up touring the kelloggs plant every summer. nothing was better than getting a free box of froot loops at the end of the tour. we didn’t get sugar cereals except for this tour so it was always a special treat…
PB Captain Crunch.
My fav from childhood would be Frosted Flakes. That was in the dark ages before they had so much to choose from!

ooooh, i love ALL the varieties of special K. YUMMO.
My mom would not buy “junk cereal” and the closest we could get was Rice Krispies, they were a favorite!
Special K blueberries!
I loved Frosted Rice Krispies when I was younger. They don’t make those anymore. :(
My whole family love Rice Krispies!! We eat them all the time. And I love to make treats with them too.
I’ve always loved Frosted Flakes and Froot Loops and now my kids love them too.
I love frosted mini wheats, especially those newer tiny ones. Great snack.
Rice Krispies…loved the “snap, crackle, pop” as a child. Also, love the Rice Krispie Treats for snacks/desserts.
FROOT LOOPS! Ever since I was a child. And even now, about once every four months, I get a crazy craving for them. Big bowl, with milk. Doesn’t get any better than that!
Our favorites would have to be Frosted Mini Wheats with Raisin Bran Crunch a very close second!!
Frosted Mini Wheats are a staple in our house. At any given time we have at least 5 boxes in the pantry.
Growing up, I loved Frosted Flakes and Cocoa Krispies (and Qwisp, does anyone remember? Oops, that might not have been Kelloggs!). Now I love Frosted Mini-Wheats, especially the strawberry kind. My favorite was actually the Vanilla Creme (Hello, Kelloggs, are you listening? Bring it back!).
My favorites are Rice Krispies and Frosted Flakes!

I loved Golden Grahams as a kid.
Thanks for the fun giveaway!
Loved the Rice Crispies! When I was little you could send in for things they advertised on the box. My favorite was a Snap, Crackle Pop Beach towel. The Rice Crispie treats aren’t bad either! :0
I loved Frosted Flakes. Now I leave that to my 13-year old who could seriously live on them. I have seen the Cinnabon cereal at the store but I haven’t tried it yet. Gotta get some now!
I loved Froot Loops [and still do!]
I love Apple Jacks!

I thought it couldn’t get better than Frosted Mini Wheats and then they came up with the Bite Size version. Perfect!
Cocoa Krispies, for sure!
Cracklin’ Oat Bran hands down, it’s the best!
We used to eat Frosted Flakes with Tony the Tiger, but they are too sweet for me now!
Thanks for a chance to win!

my fav is fruit loops without milk…
Cinnamon Toast Crunch! My sister and I would always beg my mom to buy it at the grocery store and every once in a while she would give in. Now I realize why she did not want us eating it every morning – it is practically sugar in a box, but so DELICIOUS! The Cinnabon cereal sounds like something I would love!
I looove to mix Frosted Flakes and regular Corn Flakes together. Lots of crunch and corn, but not quite as much sugar that way. I can’t handle the sugar like I did as a kid. :)
I would have to say that Frosted Mini Wheats are my favorite Kelloggs cereal.
Cracklin’ Oat Bran is the ONLY cereal my oldest son will eat. I have this theory that, because I was in a major Cracklin’ phase during pregnancy and nursing, that he is programmed to love it. :) My personal fave is Cinnamon Streusel — we keep that company is business, as we buy at least 104 boxes of Kellogg’s cereal every year!
