How We Can Help

I know that there are lots of wonderful people out there doing lots of wonderful work in response to the storms this past Wednesday. Here are three ways that are directly connected to our blog community (granted, one of them is connected because it’s my church, but that counts, right?).

Relief for people in northeast Alabama (please read sweet Lisa McKay’s story)

Relief for people in the Shoal Creek Valley (the story of the Lee family is incredibly moving)

Relief efforts through The Church at Brook Hills (scroll down and click on “give”)

Many thanks to all of you who have felt led to give and to help and to pray.

Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend!

  1. We continue to pray for all of you! May God bring his peace and comfort, and mercy and grace in abundance.

  2. Great links! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Terrie Cash says:

Thanks for the links. God was prompting for my family to give, but I didn’t know where He wanted me to send His money. After reading your link, He directed me to the place He wanted. He is so good! Thanks again.

  4. It is so strange to feel such an intense connection to people we have never met. Thanks for the links. Prayers going up!

  5. Keri Always says:

Thank you for linking to Lisa McKay’s post about NE Alabama. Our very rural area has been devastated. The reporters are not coming here like they are to other areas. Please don’t forget that the damage was equally destructive in places without univerisities and television network affiliates and multiple hospitals and several Wal-Mart Supercenters and dozens of police officers and emergency personnel.

(stepping off the soap box now, hoping I haven’t offended you or any other readers)

Also, you could link to Ree’s post where she is donating to storm relief for each comment left. (hint hint)

Thank you for the post – and the prayers!

  6. Darlene says:

Praying for all of Alabama. So thankful to hear that you all are ok. I have lots of family in T-town and thankfully, they are all ok. The tornado was only a mile from my aunt and uncle’s house.

    Thanks for the links.

  7. Sophie, I just want you to know that my family has been on the receiving end of the generosity of your church this past week. We cannot express enough our gratitude to the outpouring of love we have received. If you will email me I want to tell you how thankful we are. My family lost their home to this powerful storm but we are so blessed.
