  1. I LOVE THIS HERE POST FULL OF HAPPYS!

    A FEW OF MY JOYS
1.SNUGGLING MY LITTLES WATCHING CHARLIE BROWN I WANT A DOG FOR CHRISTMAS
2.MY 4 YEAR OLD TELLING ME, MAMA YOU ARE MY SWEET BABOO…(YES WE’RE A LITTLE OBSESED WITH ALL THINGS CHARLIE BROWN)

    :)

  2. 1. Reading Boomama’s post.
    2. Posting some of my friend’s favorite things on my blog.
    3. Having my engineer-minded husband tell me the freshly decorated tree looks great.
    4. Knowing that the only reason he said that was because he didn’t have to help! ;)

  3. 1. Watching high school kids launch raw eggs for their catapult projects and seeing the “underdogs” win!
    2. Seeing the note MC 1 left on his sick daddy’s chest this morning before we left for school that said I Love you!
    3. Finishing a Christmas present for my neice and finding cute ideas for my other neices.
    4. Being beckoned by our men children for a good night hug and a kiss, because those times are going to be few and far between some day.

  4. Are you reading the One Year Bible, too? Because I am and read Proverbs 29:25 (also in the Message) just ten minutes ago and committed it to memory because it is one I need to remember. And then I clicked over here, saw it on your list, and got some chill bumps. :-)

  5. I needed to read #13 this morning. Hoping that helps my day start off a little better! I’ve been having a few gray days lately, and I’m still waiting on my sunshine.

  6. Many happy moments yesterday, but the funniest of them happened at dinner.
Declan, who is eight, has a great sense of humor but can often really over-do a joke. I think that’s a quality of eight-year-olds. So, we were at dinner and he had done something funny by accident, then, when it got a laugh, proceeded to do it two more times. Then, this conversation happened:
Me: “My mom used to call that ‘running it in the ground’.”
Declan: “Guess what? My mom STILL calls that ‘running it in the ground’!”
    I laughed and laughed!
Also, there was watching “Emmett Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas”, which is as cute as ever. And feeding my cat a marshmallow and laughing when it got stuck on his raspy tongue thingys!

  7. That particular Proverb really struck me this morning-thanks for sharing. Funny how you can read a book many times over and suddenly a verse just jumps right out at you. I’m sure it was in there all along but today I notice it.

My happies…made my first batch of Christmas cookies, cards mostly done, hubs made me laugh even though he’s across the ocean on business, my college girl comes home tomorrow, a phone conversation with my mom, Christmas is coming.

  8. I love your blog. You just made my day. It’s always nice to start my day off with your blog… Thanks so much!

  9. A few happy moments: going to work where I get paid to do something I love, finding a new favorite Christmas song, rolling the Christmas tree and mantle this morning and blaming in on the elf on the shelf, putting on a nice warm coat, seeing the red birds this morning and watching my yorkie chase them. By the way, check out Natalie Grants’s song on youtube called “One Child”. The words are beautiful!

  10. The Next Iron Chef has been some quality programming this season. I’m actually sad it’s almost over. Although I’d really like to see them cook something normal, that doesn’t have tongue or squid or some such.

  11. I had to go highlight #13. What a great reminder!

  12. Chris of the Woodwork says:

    oh my word…

God has been putting this in my head for the past two days… “BE THE SUNFOR OTHERS!”

    No joke.

It’s been so gray and dreary here for the past two days, and I’ve been in a really depressed mood. He just gave that to me, and then I read your blog.

    HE IS GREAT AND MIGHTY.

  13. Your post was an excellent idea, so I copied you. I hope you don’t mind. I’m having a hard day and thought it would be great to purposely write down things that showed me life isn’t has gloomy as it appears to be today. So I just wrote it into a blog post. I gave you props for it being your idea. Thank you for sharing and having such a great idea!!

  14. Coming across old Christmas movies on TV. Stumbled on White Christmas last night. The one with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. Couldn’t get over how much Danny Kaye reminded me of Kramer from Seinfeld. All through the movie I kept imagining Kramer in the scenes. Gave me a whole new perspective on the old movie. I’ve been giggling about all day today.

  15. Reading your encouraging scripture…my husband just took my son to the Dr. for frequent nose bleeds, and I am a basketcase, but reading this scripture reminds me that my fear truly is disabling and giving my fears and worries to the King is freeing!
    Thank you!

  16. I so wished that you would have made a podcast of your Mississippi-isms discussion. As a fellow Mississippi girl, I would have loved to eavesdrop on that.

Your last comment regarding sweet friends who are sunshine in not-so-fun or scary times—-my day was so blessed that I had that twice yesterday! : )

  17. Love this post…
    I love that room too…
1.) my kids laughter as they play with friends, still full innocence…
2.) my daughter immediately erasing the dry erase marker off the family photos…she was distraught our elf had done that
3.) that my oldest knows several verses of Luke 2; and that we go to a school where they teach the Luke story, the real meaning of Christmas
4.) my baby and his sweet pudgy, still soft little ‘Fred Flinstone’ type feet
5.) Old Navy and their $12 sale on puffy vests…I can’t get enough of the puffy vest! :)

  18. Oh thanks too for #13!! That’s going up on my fridge amongst the Christmas cards!! My sweet moment today was rolling Snickerdoodles with all of my kids for their AWANA leaders. Thank God for children’s workers!!

  19. DeeDee Brinkman says:

I have an almost 3 month old baby boy and a sweet almost 8 year old little boy. Seeing my almost 8 yr. old snuggle and love on my new baby in the mornings literally makes my heart melt…its the most precious thing ever…for this I am truly grateful to God! This makes my day, everyday!

  20. We’ve been with my family in Texas for a month and left today to head back to Nashville. It was a sad day, BUT…I consider it such a blessing and it makes me smile to have a sweet family that I love and miss. Also, it makes me ├╝ber happy that my husband likes to drive…cause I am not a fan. Blessings!

  21. Thank you so much for the verse. I am a 34 year old compulsive people pleaser! Sometimes fear of what others might think is paralyzing. I have never read this verse this way. It is like finding a key to a cage. God is so good to use whatever it takes to reach us. Today it was your blog and one little numbered line. Merry Christmas!

  22. Canaan Herkamp says:

Are you familiar with the Mississippi jargon when someone says they are all “stove up?” We were Mississippi transplants (Biloxi) for 6 years and I finally, after about 5 years, asked what it meant. I am guessing it is that your muscles are sore and tight?

  23. I like your #13. Today I am happy to get out of work at 1:30 so I can go to my favorite art store in manhattan before I pick my daughter up from school. :) Also, I am looking forward to picking out Christmas gifts for my children’s teachers today.

  24. 1. “Only mamas can give me kisses today.” (littlest, age 3)
    2. a nap
    3.homemade cinnamon rolls and smoothies
    4. listening to my two youngest playing “teenagers”
    5. phone call from hubby who is on a business trip

  25. Love that Crystal Light drink too! What a great list you shared with us. Made me think about all the good things that happen to me each and every day. No day is perfect but there is good in every day. Thanks!
