And All God’s People Said “Amen”

I posted this on Instagram Sunday night, and it tickles me so much that I thought I’d share it here, too.

For the record, I’m really trying not to over think a certain third grader’s sermon notes.

But clearly he was wading into some deep theological waters.

You are raising that boy right! I also love the mis-spellings… because my own kids can’t spell worth a lick :)

Love it. I have those VERY same sermon notes! Pastor David preached a good ‘un. Well, like I’m sure he always does. Sure hate I missed seeing ya at the Chuy’s.

Haha!! That reminds me of a time when my daughter was about 12 or 13 and she used to get a sick tummy often in the wee hours of the night. Usually I would let her get with me in bed but sometimes she would need to kneel or sit in the bathroom and I would stay with her. This particular night I wasn’t feeling good my own self and needed to stay lying in bed. She made it through the night without me but the next day I picked up the little crossword puzzle book I keep in the bathroom and there were little notes she’d written all over the page…”Owww! Help me, mommie” “Mommie, help!” “I need you mommie” “It hurts” I laughed, but I cried. It was the sweetest thing. She wanted me but I wasn’t there but she knew I was close but she wouldn’t make me get up with her. I saved that page. It’s in her scrapbook. It’s moments like these and a million other bittersweet times that thrill my heart that God gave me children to mother. Thanks for listening to my little story. I only shared it because me and you are friends. (you emailed me two times…so we’re friends, right?)
