The Big Boo Cast, Episode 53

bigboographic

Well, we hit the ground running in this podcast, and while you might initially think we’ve detoured into techy territory when we talk about our computers (FASCINATING, naturally), we find our way back to our normal podcast pastures: fashion (specifically, we talk A LOT about jeans and booties), make-up, college football, and tailgating foods that we’re planning to make at home for next week’s game day.

And if all that weren’t enough, Melanie’s iTunes goes rogue a couple of different times during the podcast and causes all sorts of tomfoolery and also shenanigans.

You can click here to listen. Or here. You can even listen right here on the blog.

Or, as always, you can subscribe on iTunes if you’re feeling particularly fancy.

Just FYI – here’s where you can get more info on the products / places we mention (these aren’t affiliate links – just regular ole links):

Free People Denim Super Flares
Citizens of Humanity Flip Flop Flares (not the same as what Mel got, but I can’t find the other flares online, and her bargain price is in stores only)
– KUT from the Kloth Katy boyfriend jeans – petite, regular, and plus (our store in B’ham had plenty in stock in all sizes – just FYI)
TOMS Lace-Up Wedge Booties (not the same color as the ones at Nordstrom Rack, but still)
Jalapeno Popper Dip
Captain Rodney’s Dip
Southwest Fiesta Salad
Pioneer Woman’s Spicy Pulled Pork
Casa Ole’ Queso

Enjoy, y’all!

  1. Don’t miss the episode of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen airing this morning. She is cooking for football game day. Sausage balls, chili, corn bread and a dip with all kinds of cheese and bacon. I watched this right after listening to your podcast and it reminded me so much of you and Melanie.

  2. Katie C. says:

I paired my boot cut jeans with a pair of wedges for an event at church tonight and I promise that if i had y’alls phone numbers, I would have texted you a picture. I didn’t mind the skinny jean trend, mainly because I was finally skinny enough to wear them without my legs looking like sausages in casing. But I have been loyal to the boot cut even through the skinny jean season. I get all my pants at New York and Co. They carry talls in the store! In the store! I have never once not found my size in tall in the store, which is so wonderful. And last weekend all their pants were BOGO, so I got 2 pairs of jeans and 2 pairs of pants for a little over $100. This is clothing and financial victory.

  3. You need to try Mary Kay cc cream. It’s great. You can use it alone or with powder over top of it. I use it alone and add a little blush. It’s not heavy and lasts all day!!

  4. I have had the worst week of the worst year and this is just what I needed. Can’t tell you how much these podcasts make me laugh.

  5. I just needed to say that you need to hurry up and finish that book — I’m on my 3rd reading of “A Little Salty to Cut the Sweet” and have read “Home is Where My People Are” 4 times already!!! Love your blog too!! War Eagle!

  6. Love love love your podcasts! I have been listening a few months and without your podcast I would never fold my laundry! You girls are hilarious. Okay— so let Melanie know that as far as I understand it— carbonate only mirrors what is actually on your computer so if your computer gets wiped it will mirror that. I had the service for years until I realized this. Could have changed now, but just FYI.

  7. My very favorite thing about The Big Boo Cast is the opening music. On multiple occasions my husband has come into the room thinking that I’m listening to breaking news and I am–The Big Boo Cast of course.

  8. I have been searching for a foundation for a long long time. I am a 40 year old mom…and I need a little more coverage now than I did 10-15 years ago. I have tried all expensive foundations…and a few weeks ago I tried a cheaper brand and I have gotten so many compliments. It’s Loreal Infallible Pro Matte –from Target Y’all!!!

  9. Also, are the KUT jeans true to size? I really need some good jeans…but the Nordstrom isn’t close to me. :( I will have to order online.
