The Big Boo Cast, Episode 54

bigboographic

On this episode Melanie is live from Sacramento, so this is pretty much our fanciest podcast ever.

We talk about our road trips across the US, our theories about air travel, the relaxing properties of Candy Crush, our 40-something eyesight and its unwillingness to cooperate, the Mississippi State / Texas A&M football game, and the fashion courage required for an open-toe bootie.

We also discuss red lipstick, the intensity Melanie brings to any college game day experience, and a completely random assortment of various delights.

You can click here to listen. Or here. You can even listen right here on the blog.

Or, as always, you can subscribe on iTunes if you’re feeling particularly fancy.

Just FYI – here’s where you can get more info on the products / places we mention (these aren’t affiliate links – just regular ole links):

Ritz Chips
Sahale Pomegranate Vanilla Cashew Mix
My Miracle Contact Lenses (they’re multifocal)
Mississippi State’s Pregame Video – Texas A&M
Good Bull Hunting (Mel’s favorite for A&M news)
KCRA – If you time it right, maybe you can watch Melanie’s interview live on Thursday morning!
TOMS Majorca Peep Toe Bootie
C.Style – one of Mel’s favorite fashion blogs

Enjoy, y’all!

  1. Amy in Italy says:

Oh girls. You delight me. I love all the giggly madness. Thanks for the fun.
    Love from Italy…

  2. April Morgan says:

Y’all are speaking MY LIFE right now, between the plane talk and the mobile game talk!!! (Although I play Bubble Witch and not Candy Crush…) I’m flying into San Antonio towards the end of the month (from Louisiana) but have to connect through Houston…but get to fly straight from San Antonio to Phoenix…what’s up w/ that San Antonio airport?!?! geez…

  3. April Morgan says:

1 more thing- if you’re not opposed to using your phone/tablet at the podium during talks, if you download the YouVersion Bible app, you can bookmark the verses you want to read, in just about ANY translation you prefer and then you would be able to zoom in as much as you need to be able to read:D

Also (ok, 2 more things)- I love how y’all talk about reading the Bible every morning like it’s no big deal. What a fantastic example of real-life living for Jesus/building a relationship with Him that’s not all “Hey, LOOK- I’m reading my BIBLE!!!”

  4. So for YEARS I would see both of you post these pod casts and think “darn, no blog post today” and check back in the next morning. A few weeks ago after having my second baby, the wee early morning hours are the only time I can squeeze in a run or a walk. I decided to give one a listen for a change of pace. I am now walking around my small Iowa town crying from laughter almost every morning. Why oh why did I wait so long?! I am thankful I have 50-some left to get through. Thank you for these gems.

  5. Listening from … San Diego! :)

  6. Rosanne Green says:

I nearly had to “end the friendship” when you spoke disparaging words about blue cheese.

  7. Marsha W. says:

Just loved this podcast. I wanted to let you in on a little secret regarding Candy Crush. When you run out of lives, you just go to your “settings” and then “general.” Then go to “date & time.” Take it off “set automatically” and you click on the blue date and presto, you can change the date. Roll it forward just one day and then go back to Candy Crush and you’ve got another 5 lives. Before you play, go back to the date and roll it back and make sure that “set automatically” is on. It sounds complicated, but it’s really not. You can do this as much as you want for endless playing time. Since you’ve gotta wait 9 days until you can play again, you’ve got your answer here — just roll the date forward 9 days.

    I hope this helps.

  8. THANK YOU!! You reminded me of Ritz Chips. I’ve had them a while ago and then kind of forgot about them. I already added them to my grocery list!!

  9. My little boy is almost three and he loves nothing more than a marching band. So imagine his JOY when he got to hear two of them at the end of the podcast! Just had to say thank you for making our day!! We must have listened 50 times. :)

  10. Melisa Thornton says:

I feel as though I have found 2 new BFFS-or two long lost sisters from another mister!!
OH.MY.GOODNESS!!! Said in my best West TN southern drawl! I discovered your podcasts somehow-honestly my memory fails me at the moment-I’ve slept since then! Anyway, I have been going back in time listening in reverse and I am now on Episode 39!
I listen on the way to and from work b/c who can’t use a good laugh or two or makeup tip or product endorsement, or some good SEC football talk on the way to and from work!! FOR REALZ!!
I’ll be listening in West TN until I’ve listened to all of the podcasts and then I’ll likely go into withdrawl and need to re-listen to them!!
OH OH now I remember-found your podcast through recognizing Sophie’s name listening to Jamie Ivey’s podcast!!! Yep-that’s it-that is how that trail works….anyway-so glad to have found you-does my heart good every.single.day!
Gotta go find Melanie’s books in WM now or maybe I should just go on Let’s Make a Deal!! LOL! Sophie I’m gonna need you to work on getting your books in WM so I can throw them in the cart amongst all of the various and assundry other items that find their way in there and into my home! Get back to me on that won’t ya!
KUDOS to you two! And I’m gonna need to know why y’all pronounce that the way you do-maybe in an earlier podcast?? I mean here I’ve always heard it as KuDOES not KuDUs??? But what do I know???
