The Big Boo Cast, Episode 56

bigboographic

Well, welcome to our Christmas hodgepodge.

In this episode Melanie and I talk about Christmas preparations, Christmas menus, the A&M quarterback situation, my favorite way to cook steaks, Mel’s upcoming trip to the AT&T store, a couple of apps that I’m enjoying, writing software, and our favorite Christmas songs.

We also talk briefly about the rumor that Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry are ALLEGEDLY dating in real life.

This could change everything, y’all.

I’m not doing any links this time because we don’t really talk about any products or websites or anything like that. Remember, the word for the day was “hodgepodge;” this episode really is a little bit of everything and a whole lot of nothing. However, it’s over an hour of nothing, so hopefully that counts for something.

See what I did there?

You can click here to listen. Or here. You can even listen right here on the blog.

Or, as always, you can subscribe on iTunes if you’re feeling particularly fancy.

And many thanks to Travis for being such a great sport. His “In the First Light” is my FAVORITE Christmas song this year.

Hope y’all enjoy this episode – and Merry Christmas, everybody!

  1. LOVE!!! Ya’ll just make it a happier day and Travis Cottrell is soundtrack creator…Merry Christmas!

  2. Hey Sophie, what is the name of the song you mentioned that is Kirk Franklins?

  3. Travis singing at the end has already made my Christmas complete. I will be listening to this again when I need a good laugh… that was just TOO. GOOD. :) Merry Christmas, Sophie!

  4. This made my Monday morning commute great! Please tell me you are going to weigh in on the Steve Harvey pageant fiasco!

  5. Thanks for the new podcast! It made my morning to listen to it. Since you love music I wanted to encourage you to give a listen to an album called “Prepare Him Room” by Sovereign Grace Music. It was released last year but the words in many of the songs are simply magical and reflective of the season. I just LOVE it and thought you might appreciate it. I hope you have a very merry and blessed Christmas!

  6. We sang “Bring the Torch Jeanette Isabella” in my high school Christmas program! I now have it stuck in my head and I remember the word after all these years (25!)!

  7. What is the tomato dip/dish that Melanie mentioned?

  8. Yolanda McLean says:

As I was listening to the cooking steaks in the cast iron skillet story, I wanted to chime in that I have a great technique too. One day my husband didn’t make it home in time to get the grill (charcoal) started and some steaks needed to be cooked – so I got out my electric griddle. I put that baby on the highest temperature and cooked the steaks for a few minutes on each side, getting a great sear. Best steaks ever!!! Now my husband insists steaks be cooked on the electric griddle – winning and losing all at the same time!

Aren’t you just thrilled that I shared that with you? Just thrilled? Aren’t you thrilled?

  9. Holly in Oregon says:

Wrapping presents with you two jabbering in the background makes me happy! And now I want a steak.

  10. Oh my word I am crying laughing at Travis!! Y’all are the greatest. Also, thank y’all for always keeping it real. Y’all are by far my favorite bloggers because I can totally relate to everything y’all talk about!
