The Big Boo Cast, Episode 71

Well, the big news at the beginning of this podcast is that Melanie is snack mom for Caroline’s soccer team, so we have a lengthy conversation about budgeting and price awareness and our limitations as household managers. We also spend some time talking about Melanie’s feelings about chicken that’s already off the bone, salsas we enjoy, goals for TV watching, and some exciting new cosmetic finds.

There’s also a considerable amount of discussion about our optimal lighting and how maybe we’re facing some skincare issues that make-up can’t fix.

We also talk about why we can’t talk about some stuff related to some writing stuff (and other assorted vagueries). But other than that it’s all very specific.

We surely do hope you enjoy it.

  1. Well, y’all are my people. I have three boys. 18,16, and 12. I go to the grocery store 1-5 times a week. I buy 4-5 gallons of milk a week. I have NO idea how much a gallon of milk costs. Whenever you see those charts that are supposed to startle you by telling you how much a gallon of milk, a gallon of gas, or a loaf of bread cost in 1975? I don’t gasp. I don’t even blink. I have no concept. I’m not sure my husband finds this very funny or endearing. ;-) Thanks for the laughs this morning. So much fun for a Monday!!!

  2. Jessica White says:

1st thing…I am obsessed with the palmetto cheese from Costco!! I could eat it everyday–any cracker will do!
2nd thing… I totally thought you said “potato salsa” when I was listening today. Thank God for your show notes and I saw that it was Mateo salsa…I would have embarrassed myself asking the Costco workers for the potato salsa!!! LOL

  3. Michele Brooks says:

    Sophie,

You must try Bye Bye Under Eye concealer from IT Cosmetics. It’s a game changer.

    Love the podcast!

  4. I love, love, love that you guys are podcasting more! My girls are 1 and almost 4, and it’s like a small glimpse into my future. I so look forward to my girls getting to the tween/early teen stage, but it also helps me to enjoy the stage we’re in, because it won’t last forever. Thank you!!!

  5. I love the IT CC cream. It’s awesome! I do sometimes set it with the Bye Bye pores or the Perfecting Powder. I haven’t needed a primer with it. You must try Tarte Shape Tape concealer. It stays sold out at Ulta and for good reason. It’s a must for winter dark circles and you won’t find anything like it!!!

  6. Holly Ferrero says:

You got me addicted to Mateo Medium salsa last time you mentioned it. I end up drinking the leftover juice at the end it’s so addictive! And my friend who is doing Whole 30 says he thinks it’s compliant

  7. Keturah Garner says:

Love the podcasts! However, people at the gym probably wonder why I’m laughing when I’m sweaty, out of breath and look like I’m dying 😂

I have a question for you two beauty experts. What is the difference between BB cream and CC cream?

    Thank you!

  8. Lisa Bingham says:

Thank you for the podcasts! They are just so fun!!! I look forward to each new one and regularly listen to the old ones.
    How is Martha doing?

  9. The IT CC+ cream is the best. I love that you can use a little and get a light coverage or more and get a medium coverage. I also use IT eyelift in a tube. It has a concealer on one end and a highlighter on the other. You put them both under the eye and blend. Both products took me a little while to get used to but I’m a customer for life now.

I’m going to need a special report on the snail serum.

  10. Thank you for these podcasts. They make my day when a new one pops up for download. And thanks to you both, I went right out and bought that foundation from Ulta. And it’s great. It was perfect timing as I was done with my old stuff which was no longer working for me. (THREE – count them – THREE people actually said something about how I never wear make up, when I was wearing make up so it clearly wasn’t doing its job.) Anyway, did y’all note that the second ingredient in the cream is snail secretion? That gave me pause.
    Cheers,
    Dana

  11. About This Is Us…I love it, but it may be a little tender for you having so recently lost your mom. Tread carefully. It unleashes lots of emotions each episode, and I don’t want you to be caught off guard. Hugs
